Being in love with your best friend isn’t recommended.
Especially when you both prefer to let someone else take control. We knew we were meant to be together, with another, and both had dreams of the perfect Daddy who’d want us both, though he hadn’t come along yet.
Riya Cox and Stefan Pierce’s friendship didn’t start out the conventional way. Nope. It happened when Stefan stepped in after a wanna be handler attempted to coerce Riya into something he didn’t want. When he raised his hand to strike Riya, Stefan jumped in and nearly ripped it off. Needless to say, they were banned from that club.
Jonovan Duarte was tired of boys donning masks they weren’t meant to wear, used only to appease wealthy Daddies. Was honesty a virtue no longer possessed? Boys would come and go, each having the same goal—to max out his credit cards. With debt gone, along with the sugar babies Jonovan returned to the scene only to go home empty handed. Was it time to call it quits and accept that fate had no match for him?
Pick Us, Daddy is part of the Pride Pet Play 2023 multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not check them all out? If you like playful pets who are sometimes naughty, Pride parades, and Daddies who love their boys unconditionally you’ll fall in love with our pack!
REVIEW:
A new entry in the Pride Pet Play 2023 multi-author series from one of my favorite authors!
Riya and Stephan are a package deal. Riya is a scared little kitty and his best friend/lover Stephan is a very protective puppy. But they are both missing
something to make their relationship complete. They are both submissive bottoms. Stefan needs a daddy and Riya wants a handler. But trust is a major issue after all that went down the last time with Dominic, the predator Dom that didn’t take No or Red for answer! When the gentle handler/Daddy Jonovan wants to meet the two he knows going in that he will have his hands full. There’s a reason no handlers ever get close to the pair and they never leave with anyone. But what he discovers breaks his heart and he makes it his mission to help these two boys who need him as much as he needs them. But can he get Kitty and Pup to trust him enough to let him in to their world?
Dominic is what gives kink a bad rap. He was a sadist and totally abusive and out of control. And his fixation on Riya “the one that got away” was deeply disturbing. His failure to stop when Riya said No and called Red was reprehensible in the kink community. Thankfully Jonovan, Artesia and the police detectives took it very seriously. He was escalating more and more and Riya was in total danger if Jonovan hadn’t stepped in. I fear, as the detectives did, that if Dominic had got his hands on Riya again he would have wound up dead.
Stefan and Riya’s love for each other was so pure. And Stefan’s protectiveness was touching. Those boys/pets needed a love like Daddy Jonovan could only give. They were all so perfectly matched like the fates arranged it all! They filled all of each of their needs in a way no one else could possibly have. And Jonovan needed his boys/pets just as badly as both of them needed their Daddy.
I did love how accepting both of Jonovan’s parents were of Stefan and Riya. Those boys needed that love and acceptance that hadn’t happened in their lives with parents. I especially loved that Momma brought sweet Riya under her wing and they bonded so completely. He needed that positive Mother figure in his life. And Stefan and Titus, Jonovan’s boxer were the perfect pair for rambunctious play times.
I wasn’t sure if this was going to work for me but I should have know that TL would turn that thinking around. They wound up being the perfect trio for each other and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Well except for all Riya’s trauma. That was totally heartbreaking.
