CAN LOVE BE QUANTIFIED BY A SIMPLE BLOOD TEST AND AN ALGORITHM? SOMETIMES… BUT, NOT ALWAYS.
Kace’s heats are difficult and painful. His last alpha boyfriend hurt him by trying to breed him when Kace wasn’t ready or willing, and Kace was too polite to stop it but left the next day still in the throes of heat. His doctor calls his condition Heat Repulsion, and tells him if he meets his fated mate, that condition might go away. He recommends Perfect Match Agency for Kace, a new company that uses the science of pheromones to help people find their fated mates.
But when Kace goes on his first blind date with his perfect match, it’s not the alpha taking him out to dinner that interests him, but the man’s sulky assistant, Storm.
Alpha Storm has a secret. Because of a boyhood betrayal, he dislikes omegas who he has decided are superficial, silly, whimsical and untrustworthy. He has only ever hooked up with alphas. He has never been with an omega in heat, so he’s never experienced a knot and doesn’t even know if he can. But why would he want to knot anyone? He trusts no one.
Suddenly, both men experience off-schedule signs of pre-heat and pre-rut, and they soon discover they are causing each other’s symptoms.
Can both men overcome their insecurities, griefs and fears long enough to test the compatibility between them?
Grumpy/sunshine, mpreg, fated mates, first time knot, first time womb breach, heat and rut at the same time, steamy, low angst, non-shifter omegaverse, sweet romance.
The Perfect Match Agency is a multi-author gay romance series. The stories are non-shifter omegaverse with high heat and low angst. Male pregnancy is possible in the world. Each individual book can be read as a standalone, features a new couple, and a satisfying happily ever after.
REVIEW:
The second book in this steamy multi-author series.
Kace is desperate. He’s only had three heats so far but they were horrible. The one with his last boyfriend at the time was unbearable and he left the next morning while still in heat. His doctor has diagnosed him having Heat Repulsion and his only hope is finding his fated mate. The doctor guides him to a scientific matching service buts it’s $800 even with the major discount the doctor was able to get him. $800 is a lot for a guy just out of college and waiting tables. Thankfully he doesn’t have to pay if they don’t find a suitable match for him or after he is mated. When they call almost immediately with a 87% match which they assure him is a very successful match. Unfortunately Morgan doesn’t work out no matter how wonderful he is. But his grumpy assistant Storm is setting him off in to early heat. And he seems to be triggering an unexpected rut in Storm according to Morgan. But can a grumpy Alpha who has sworn off wily omegas and a sweet omega with heat issues make a match?
Kace and his delicate and debilitating condition tugs at your heart. He just wants to get what every omega dreams of. His own Alpha that adores him and a family of his own. Although I worried that their match up was just heat/rut driven I found Storm to be the perfect gentleman to the beautiful omega. I know Storm struggled because of his past and that he had sworn off omegas but if their was ever the perfect omega to soothe his battered heart it was sweet, adorable Kace. These two were so perfectly mated and their sexy times were scorching hot
I have been a fan of Wendy Rathbone and this book was no exception. I’m not usually a fan of insta-love/attraction but I liked that Morgan got to play matchmaker when his match didn’t materialize. I like Morgan. He knew just how to dish it out to his grumpy assistant but it was obvious that Storm was important to him and much more than just an employee. I can’t wait for his match next time. I hope he gets one as wonderful as Kace because he deserves it.
