LAMBDA Award Finalist. Expect: Tourettes rep, snarky British banter, MMM first times, and an emotional friends-to-lovers HEA.
Restaurant owner Tom Fearnes has loved his partner Cass for as long as he can remember, but their work often keeps them apart. When he meets a striking young man named Jake on the vibrant streets of Camden Town, their heady first encounter takes an unexpected turn.
Jake Thompson can hardly believe his luck when he wakes up in Tom’s bed. Tom is gorgeous, kind, and . . . taken. Tom’s explanation of his open relationship leaves Jake cold, but Tom is too tempting, and when hard times force Jake to accept Tom’s helping hand, he finds himself between two men who’ve lost their way.
Cass Pearson is a troubled soul. He loves Tom with all he has, but some days it feels like he hasn’t much to give. Jake seems like the perfect solution. Cass risks everything to push Jake and Tom together, but Jake resists, wary, until the darkness of Cass’s past comes to call. Then Jake finds himself the last man standing, and it’s time to dig deep and shine a light for the men he’s grown to love.
REVIEW:
What a ride! The author crafted an amazing story! An MMM story, with three excellently developed characters and their carefully build, intense, emotional, and sexy relationship. A rich, full story.
Dang, I loved them so hard!
While it started as a nice comfortable breeze it turned into a tornado. It was overwhelming. I couldn’t imagine this on forehand.
Building restaurants is what Tom does, he and his partner Cass are in the restaurant business together, and Cass is the cook. They love each other deeply. They have an open relationship, not that they have much time for anything because they work many many hours.
One night Tom meets Jake, a grumpy waiter, he’s hot and there’s something about him that touched Tom’s soul.
They end up in bed and have a hot night. So far so good. When Jake wakes up Tom is already gone and it’s Cass who he meets. After some shouts, Jake is gone.
At some point, Jake loses his job, mainly because of his Tourette’s syndrome. He shouts words, has tics and his body doesn’t always do what he wants. Tom offers him a job.
So far the introduction to the three men.
“Love it when your tics are in context”
What follows is an amazingly beautiful emotional ride, where the three of them come closer and closer.
Each of them has a story to tell, together they are… gosh, please read it yourself, you will not regret it!!
So what can I say further about this story… it was such an overwhelming story, so much love, but not only that, there’s also stress, misunderstanding, reluctance, withdrawal, and there’s a history. It is all captivating AF. The author did an amazing job! The TS was such an enrichment to Jake’s character and the whole story!
I highly recommend this one!!
