Have you heard the tale of Goldie and the Two Bears?
Alex
Working in the adult entertainment industry has its challenges. Mainly, scoring a date that lasts longer than a night. I’d started to wonder if my own happily-ever-after wasn’t in the cards.
But then a hookup turned meet-cute lands me right on top of Rowan, the shy, submissive bear of my dreams with a serious weak spot for sweetly spoken words. He doesn’t see Tink, the performer. He sees me.
Yet before I can lick my territory, Rowan’s neighbor Finn walks in. Quite literally. And the tatted, pierced, ginger-haired papa bear has his sights set on my new crush. Even worse, Rowan returns his interest. I assume that’s game over, so imagine my shock when Finn suggests a less-than-traditional arrangement in which we all win.
They say you should never run from bears. So really, what’s a boy to do when faced with his ultimate fantasy?
After all, maybe happily-ever-after is meant for more than two.
Tink is a poly MMM romance between one golden-haired troublemaker and two very delicious bears of the human variety. There’s praise, furry chests and unexpected piercings, an extensive collection of orchids, tight white pants, coworkers who are like family, and one very HEA. It’s book 3 in the Elite 8 Studios series but can be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
Note: This is the third in this series and contains some spoilers for the first two books. I can be read as a standalone, but the previous books are very well written and provides some of the context for Alex/”Tink” and his porn career at Elite 8.
Alex/”Tink” works as a performer for Elite 8 – a gay porn studio. He’s a delectable twink and an art student on the side just about ready to graduate. He likes his job but he’s in need of a hookup and so he goes on an app. There he finds the bear of his dreams. Grizz is his handle and boy is that accurate 😉 So they arrange to meet and Alex is sure he’s died and gone to heaven when he meets the sweet man in person. He’s shy and really needs Alex to take the lead. Alex is more than happy to do so 😀 Turns out Rowan is definitely a bear of the “teddy” variety and they have a fabulous night.
Finn is Rowan’s neighbor. He’s been trying to work up the nerve to ask Rowan out. Just as he’s about to do so, he catches Ro and Alex. He’s sad thinking that he’s lost out on a great guy. But it seems like Alex isn’t willing to get in the way and he sort of bows out. Finn is pretty intuitive though and he definitely sense something more than hookup between the two. Surprisingly he’s OK with that. He encourages both Rowan and Alex to consider something more than friendship 😉
Finn and Rowan and Rowan and Alex eventually turn into Goldiecock (Alex’s hookup handle) and his two bears 🙂 The evolution of this throuple happens pretty organically and there are MANY happening endings 😉
So I really enjoyed this story. Rowan and Finn and Alex are just the sweetest guys. Rowan’s self-esteem had taken a beating thanks to his a$$hole ex. He’s a little oblivious to when someone is in to him. He cannot imagine why Alex would be into him and choose him on a hookup app, but Alex is definitely willing to show him why. Finn has been trying to play it cool and then he feels like he’s missed his chance, but Alex is pretty intuitive and realizes that they might be something real there for Finn and Rowan and he’s such a good guy he doesn’t want to get in the way, despite how much he really likes Rowan. His romantic history being a bit checkered, he’s convinced that he won’t be anybody’s choice for long term. I really appreciated how intuitive both Finn and Alex are about Rowan. He’s really the focus of this relationship TBH. He’s this really sweet guy that wants love badly and he doesn’t realize what a catch he is. Alex has always been told he’s “too much” and nobody wants him for long. With two Bears he seems to have met his match 🙂 Compared to other MMM stories, there is really very little angst here. They communicate after the initial proposal from Finn. All three guys seem to be on the same page. I don’t know if that’s realistic, but it was fun to read. I also enjoyed seeing past characters from other books in the series here as well. Be warned – there is a LOT of sex. Some might complain, but I think there is a reason behind that. Alex really likes sex. A lot of it. He loves his job and having two boyfriends works for him when he seems to have found the right two boyfriends. Boyfriends who seem to accept and love all of him. In the end, there is a very happy ending for all which I really liked. I thoroughly enjoy this series and this book is no exception. Highly recommended.
