Jumpy investigator Quentin never expected a small town single dad to be his biggest weakness. Or welcome him into his family.
On the hunt for a lead in small town Darlington, Quentin instead finds Leo, a broad-chested shifter alpha. The man’s surly and grumpy with a clear distrust for visitors. But, there’s no denying that he puts Quentin in a toe-curling heat he’s never felt before.
With feisty twin daughters, Leo has no time for the sweet-scented omega poking around his pack. Even if destiny has other ideas, Leo won’t admit his wolf’s obsession means Quentin is his fated mate. It’s clear – he needs protection.
Quentin can’t be distracted from his mission. Everything depends on it. Until an unexpected attack leaves the hurt omega in Leo’s care.
The human never expected to be protected… Or given sweaty self-defense lessons. Or be invited to eight-year-old girls’ birthday party. Or be told he’s destined as Leo’s mate.
But the hunter has become the hunted. The longer Quentin stays, the closer his villains come. And they’re out for shifter blood. There’s only one way to protect his newfound family — and it might tear Quentin and Leo apart.
Heck No Leo is the fourth book in the Darlington Pack series of wolf shifter mpreg stories. It can be read as a standalone novel, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you read the earlier books for context. This story features enemies to hurt/comfort lovers, a close-knit found family, revelations of Darlington’s backstory, and a growing pack of pups. And of course a guaranteed happily ever after for Leo, Quentin, Lyra, Ada… and one more.
REVIEW:
I have been eagerly awaiting Leo’s story.
Leo, single dad to the feisty 7 year old identical twin daughters Lyra and Ada, is Darlington’s Law Enforcer. He moved to Darlington when the girls were still little after Frank, his chosen mate, was killed by a drunk driver. When the nosy reporter Quentin, the guy who made Rohan and Mars lives miserable , shows up in town the pack is on alert. But no one is more concerned than Leo when he realizes who fate dropped in his town…mate! Now what the heck is Leo suppose to do?
As if Leo’s back story isn’t bad enough then you discover what West Lion did to poor Quentin when his was just a kid. These two men had some pretty devastating experiences that lead to who they were. Leo’s tragedy made him hold on a bit tighter to his girls that were growing up way to quickly. I applauded Leo for encouraging both the girls to seek their true potential instead of hiding their talents like other shifter parents tended to do. But how Quentin was basically brainwashed and programmed was evil. I know that Wesley promised to help Quentin to escape West Lion but how that company operated was disgusting.
I know Leo had a hard time with Frank’s memory and honoring him. Being ripped from their family had been devastating. And I get that he thought he was cheating on his chosen mates memory but fate gives you one fated mate and everyone figured it out fast who was Leo’s when Quentin came to town.
I loved Atlas in this book! He had matured but was still the fun one for the girls while taking on the responsibility of their pack leadership. And him nudging both Leo and Quentin was awesome. Also getting to see Jake and Greyson, who were like the fun uncles who watch you and let you do anything then give you back to your parents. I can’t wait for their story.
One of the things I don’t mention much is the need for editing. A couple mistyped words I typically don’t mention but this could have used a once more through. A few times I wasn’t sure what the right word was really suppose to be and it pulled me out of the story.
I guess that this is the end of the Darlington Wolves stories and now we are moving onto Jake and his Bear sleuth next. Although Jake seems to be mooning over his friend Greyson so I hope we get more on my wolves too.
