For the first time in years, Lachlan finds himself dreaming again–of the man he met at the bar. Blake.
Lachlan wants Blake as much as he wants his crown. Maybe even more so.
But there’s a deadly catch. Blake is no ordinary man—he’s the familiar of a powerful wizard who owns half his soul, and this wizard isn’t going to let him go. Blake’s master relies on him to execute assassinations for his own gain… and Lachlan is next on the hit list.

REVIEW:
I am totally hooked on this universe Silvana Falcon has created in this series. Please note – you really need to read the previous books in this series. It’s a multiple book story arc and you will be a bit lost, if you just pick up and start reading Lachlan and Blake’s story. Characters from the previous stories make appearances in this book and it’s helpful to understand their backgrounds and how they are relative to this part of the series. World building and character development are extremely important to me as I read books not only for review purpose but for pleasure as well. I really must say Silvana is creating a well rounded and diversified world. I love how each book in the series, gives us a glimpse of the various locations incorporated into this universe. We’ve experienced frozen locations, forested locations concealing humans and possible other creatures, we have yet to meet and now we get to experience the water kingdom, ruled over by Lachlan’s family. The creativity that has gone into creating such vibrant and detailed kingdoms is stunning.
Incorporated into this diverse universe are some of the most creative and imaginative characters I’ve read in a long time. Dragons are some of my favorite shifters and I’m enthralled with this courageous Dragon and his fated mate – a familiar to a not so nice mage. I was so absorbed in the story that I wanted to do bodily harm to one of Silvana’s characters. I might’ve been rooting for him to his comeuppance. But this is how wonderfully written these characters are. They are extremely intriguing and have depth of character, that makes you root even harder for Lachlan and Blakes happy ending.
He deepened the kiss, exploring every inch of Lachlan’s mouth, tasting him, savoring him. Lachlan let out a low, rumbling moan and Blake felt it in his chest like a spark of electricity. He ran his hands up Lachlan’s bare back, tracing the lines of his muscled form, stopping only when his fingers brushed against the ridges of Lachlan’s wings, where skin slowly gave way to scales.
One final note about this book and series. There is nothing formulaic about Silvana’s writing and this book is no exception. If you want to know how a damaged dragon and a familiar come together, you need to get this book. I enthusiastically recommend this book and I encourage you to run to your favorite book purchasing site to get this book. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
