Brighton was a gangly awkward teenager the last time he saw his dad’s best friend Zander. Six years later, Brighton’s an adult, and still very aware Zander is hot.
As an aerialist in the Black Cat Circus, raven-shifter Brighton has honed his skills in the air. On the ground, not so much. He’s best friends with a cat—the circus mascot—and reads in his free time. But despite his seemingly quiet nature, Brighton knows what he wants. Zander.
Zander is freshly retired from a career in the military and eager for a new adventure. The circus awaits! Unfortunately, his best friend retired from said circus and decided to celebrate with a month long trip, leaving Zander alone with his kid. Zander remembers an adorable child, not the handsome young man Brighton has become, and his intense attraction makes him feel all kinds of wrong.
Can Brighton keep his secrets safe from his biggest crush? Can Zander control his yearning for the young acrobat? What will Brighton’s father think?
The Aerialist is a spicy dad’s-best-friend paranormal MM romance with a touch of primal play, forced proximity, and so. Many. Crop. Tops. It is part of the Black Cat Circus, a multi-author series that features found family and a magical cast of characters. Each book can be read as a standalone, but better enjoyed together.
REVIEW:
Oh my goodness gracious! This series just keeps getting better and better💕
Brighton, one of the youngest Main Event performers has literally grown up in the circus. Being a Raven-shifter he was a natural to be an Aerialist. He is so graceful and literally flies through his performance. Add in a little magic, that Seven has taught him, and his act is one of the top draws. But Brighton is all alone. Well except for Peanut, the something-other-than-a-cat companion he has. But Brighton wants what all his found family has been getting…their true mate! And he knows who he has longed for, his parent’s best friend Zander. Now Zander is on the way to back after he just retired from the Marines and wants to join their circus. But his parents have also just retired and are gone on their adventure. So it’s up to Bri to welcome Zee and make him feel welcome. But how can he contain his longings and not show his real self for the only man he really wants?
I have been waiting on pins and needles to get to the energetic young man in the sparkly booty shorts and crop tops. Brighton has engaged me and his story was nothing like I imagined. I had no idea that he was basically on his own for most of his life. Thank goodness Seven had always been there for him. And Peanut too. His parents leaving him the trailer was the minimum of what he deserved.
Although I already knew I loved the sparkly young man I was no where prepared for Zander. That man was everything you could hope fore. I know he fought the age and best friend’s son demons but he literally was drawn to Bri and they had to have each other. And his take charge of the situation with anything involving Brighton was such a turn on. He loved that man as much as Bri loved Zee. There simply wasn’t any other outcome that worked.
I have been intrigued about the mysterious cat Peanut and how he helped lead other couples together. I was thrilled to hear that he was with Brighton and his friend/companion. And getting to hear why the circus was called Black Cat Circus was a true treat and long anticipated. The mystery about why Seven, who is always around Brighton but never saw the cat, is finally starting to emerge. I can’t wait for Seven’s story next and the explanation! I just hope that Brighton isn’t too devastated if what I believe is going to transpire will happen. Thankfully he has Zander now to hold and take care of him. And I know Brighton worries about his dear friend, mentor and boss. This should be a great book!
I love how it is so obvious that each of these authors worked in sync to have their books effortlessly flow from one member of the Black Cat Circus to the other. They kept all their different MC’s true to how they were presented by each author. I am truly amazed at how joined this series is. If I had been handed it without knowledge of the author I probably would have guessed this was a one-author series. And their work together to pull off this amazing series is to be applauded!
Now on for the finale! I am going to be sad that this wonderfully created world is going to come to an end but, as the Ringmaster always says “the show must go on!”
