REVIEW:
In this collection of short stories of how life is treating our beloved Variks is truly short and sweet! I miss them so much so it was a very pleasant surprise to learn that we will get a glimpse of how life is after all the discord that happened a few years back.
We see glimpses of Marcus and Ethan, Rafe and Philippe, Beltran, Wyatt and River, Winter and Fox and our beloved King Aiden and Ronan! It made missing less painful to be able to see that they are happy and sometimes still doing the shenanigans we expect them to do.
But it was also great to finally see Ryder and Gideon find their way to each other, although they have been circling each other for years now, never thinking that the other want the other the way they wanted to be wanted (confusing?). Well, Gideon thinks that Ryder may never see him as an equal and a suitable mate because of how he is. Ryder thinks he is too imperfect for someone like Gideon, see where I’m going? But their family sees all and finally finds a perfect way for these two to be together.
Thank you Ms. Jocelynn Drake for bringing us to visit the Variks, it is so great to be able to get a glimpse of how they all are after all the chaos, pain and heartache they went through over the past years. I particularly love King Aiden and Ronan’s painting fiasco. It is so so sweet of Ronan to paint all those portraits of Aiden even after years of not seeing each other. The surprise that Rafe does for Philippe is so sweet, leave it to Rafe to come up with sweet ideas for his “Mon Ange!” The way Wyatt and River make Bel special on his birthday (even after over a hundred years) is something that we can wish for from our mates. How deep Winter love his Fox is without question one of the most endearing scenes in this visit. Marcus and Ethan have always been my favorite, but coming close in second is King Aiden and Ronan, but all the brothers bring their own skill into the family so that you will always feel part of them, whether you are a fledgling or someone who wanted to become part of them after all the annihilation done by the other clans.
I am going to miss them so much but a visit now and then can ease those longing.
Congratulations Ms. Jocelynn Drake!
