Everyone knows my face. No one knows the real me.
All people see when they look at me is a beautiful man, a supermodel, half of the world’s most famous twins. No one sees the man underneath.
When I return to Forestville, the small town I grew up in, for my high school reunion, I impulsively decide to stay.
I’m now the proud owner of a house, an absolute fixer-upper. Never mind that I have two left hands.
Thank god for Cas, the local contractor, who agrees to help me out. We come from completely different worlds and are almost twenty years apart, yet we somehow connect.
Cas sees me, the real me.
We hook up…
Then become friends…
With benefits (courtesy of a snowstorm)…
And a fake relationship (long story)…
But when fake becomes real and pretending turns into feelings I can’t deny, I’m left wondering if what we have stands a chance.
Renovating the Model is the first book in the new Forestville Silver Foxes series, a contemporary small-town MM romance series featuring hot silver foxes and the men who fall in love with them. Each book can be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
A brand new series by Nora Phoenix 🎉
Tiago has just been a pretty face all of his adult life. Being the second half of the world famous twin models with his twin Tomás, he has lived a life people dream of. However Tiago is tired of the parties and the travel and the paparazzi. When the brothers return to their hometown of Forestville, Washington for their high school reunion after 30 years since they set the world on fire as the most beautiful men in the world he realizes he misses this small town life. At 48, he’s ready to make a change in his life. Unfortunately though Tomás doesn’t have any idea how he’s changing and isn’t anywhere ready to change his current jet set life. And Tomás has always been in charge. It’s all Tiago has ever known. But Tiago has made friends with Cas, the much younger contractor in town. And Cas has helped him overcome his fears, based on his severe learning disability, and helped open doors to his own independence. Being friends-with-benefits has been fun too but what is he to do when feelings start worming their way in?
Tiago’s story of how his dyslexia has deeply influenced and affected his entire adult life really got to me. How someone that is suppose to work with students can hurt and crush a young man with ill-placed, hurtful words makes me so mad. He literally drove Tiago to rely and fully depend on his brother his whole life with that one talk. Tiago may be beautiful and successful and very rich but he had absolutely no self esteem. Meeting Cas was the best luck in the world for him. It gave him to confidence to break free and be who he wanted. And to find real love in a place he is safe, secure and wants to be.
Cas’s story was even more heartbreaking. Being disfigured in a horrific automobile accident that changed you whole look and life in a split instance is unfathomable. But constantly being stared at and unintentional but cruel comments hurt more than the physical scars left behind. Him not feeling worthy to be with Tiago because of his appearance was hard to read. And the paparazzi fears of his disfigurement while being with one of the most beautiful men in the world was crushing. But Tiago saw past the scars to the beautiful man Cas really is and embraced him.
As you all know, I am a HUGE fan of Nora Phoenix and have been since I read her first book “No Filter” in her No Shame series. She even tempted me into the paranormal world with her Irresistible Omegas and now I’m totally hooked! With Nora setting new series in my beloved former home of Pacific Northwest she immediately got my attention. First we went to Seattle for the Foster Brothers. Now this book series is a spin-off of those. Marnin, who is one of Tiago’s longest and closest friends (along with former Friends-with-benefits) is the the “Chief Technical Officer at LeClerc Robotics in Seattle.” That is Sebastian’s company! I am thrilled to be back home and Nora writing about one of my favorite sub-genre’s Silver Foxes makes this a huge winner in my book! I can’t wait for this series to unfold! I know we have Auden’s book next but hope for all four of the high school friend’s stories. This is a fantastic start to what is shaping up to be a great series!!!
