Killian Gregory left New Hope when he turned eighteen, setting his sights on New York City and building a successful web design business. Years later, reeling from a messy breakup, he volunteers to return to his hometown to close out his aunt’s estate. The last thing he expects is to find himself in the arms of his older brother’s best friend…his sexy but very straight best friend.
The more Mike gets to know Killian, the more he’s drawn to him, awakening feelings he’s never felt before. Unaware of Mike’s inner turmoil, Killian fights his growing feelings.
But Mike’s all in, even if he has a lot to prove to keep Killian from running away again.
If you love small towns, best friend’s brothers, and bi awakening, you’ll love Saving Hope.
REVIEW:
If you are looking for that sweet, no-angst love story to curl up with tonight this is your book! 💕
Mike Archer is content with his life. He lives in the small town that he grew up in. Unlike his friends growing up Mike has always wanted to stay in their small hometown protecting its citizens as part of their police force. He has his house all fixed up and his loving and protective dog Shadow by his side. His whole loud and active family still meet up for their weekly family dinners. Life is good if not a bit lonely. Mike has dated plenty of women but never felt a real spark. While sitting out on his back deck after a day at work Shadow suddenly senses something is up at the house next door. It was his best friend Reece’s Aunt Shirley’s house, who recently passed away, that he grew up in with his sister Clarissa and their younger brother Killian when their parents were killed when they were young. Imagine his shock that someone is trying to break into her house. After apprehending the suspect he discovers it’s Killian who is there to renovate the house to put up for sale per their aunt’s wishes. The two men quickly reconnect and spend a lot of time together, which is quite normal. What is odd though is these butterflies that have started appearing when he thinks of the cute younger brother of his best friend and is that a flare of jealousy he’s feeling when he finds him chatting with the new baker in town?
These two are so perfect for each other! The sexy best friend of his older brother that Killian had crushed hard on since he was 14 and Mike came to check on him when he heard the kids at their high school were picking on “the nerd”. I loved that Mike has always been protective of those he cared about. And what I loved most about Mike was that he didn’t simply bury his new feelings. He reached out to his friend Ford knowing this is what happened to him too and might have insight. He researched his possibility at being bisexual vs. pansexual and decided he might be a blend of the two. Then he wooed Killian and let his new found discoveries be known. Now that’s how two adults should work. And who couldn’t love that Little Bit and Shadow were so cute together just like their dads!
Mike is police partner’ with Ford Scott. We met in Ford, his life partner Dr. River Adam’s and their two adorable daughters when he came to New Hope for a new life for himself and his little girl from NYC. It was great to get to see so many characters from the first book here. It makes so much sense because New Hope is such a small, close-knit community that looks out for each other.
This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for in a book lately. Grown men discussing their feelings and thoughts and then moving forward. This book filled all my needs and made me laugh and smile. It tugged at my heart at all the right moments. I have been a big time fan of Annabella Michaels for quite awhile and this book definitely did not disappoint. Huge hit for me right in the feels and I highly recommend it!!!
