“Why would my boss want someone as young and broken as me for his boy? But the way he looks at me…”
Levi has seen more life than anyone his age should have. He’s responsible for more than anyone knows. The weight on his shoulders is crippling, but he’d do anything for his family.
When Christian hired Levi, all he saw was a young man with a wound on his face so recent that it hadn’t healed yet and desperation in his eyes. He didn’t know his story, but he didn’t need to. One of the reasons he’d opened The Tap Tavern was to give people who needed a safe place to land a job—a home away from home.
Christian swore to himself he’d never date an employee, but then he’s never had one quite like Levi. Levi never planned to trust anyone to help him carry his load, least of all a marshmallow of a Daddy. When unfortunate events force these two men to share a house, will they be able to resist what’s been brewing between them right there under the surface?
Welcome to another heartwarming story from The Tap Tavern, where Christian and Levi finally get their HEA.This is not a standalone.
REVIEW:
This is the book we have all been impatiently waiting for but boy was it worth the wait!
Christian has put his heart and soul into The Tap Tavern. His goal to create a safe place for their LGBTQ+ community has worked out even better than he hoped. He also was able to offer members of his community a job when need or a hand to help. When the beautiful yet damaged young man first came to work for him he knew Levi was special and was hiding his story. Christian is a patient man (and daddy) if nothing else. But when ever it looked like Levi was in need he was the first to spring to action. Years of watch Levi mature and come out of his shell makes Christian’s desires for the man more and more difficult to hold in. But is Levi the boy he yearns for or is it just hopeful thinking?
There couldn’t possibly be a better match up than Christian and Levi. As their past unfolded they both realize that they are perfect for each other if Levi can finally let down his walls enough for Christian to show him how much he treasures and loves his pretty boy. And the parallel between their lives without knowing was perfect. Christian could realize what sacrifices that Levi has made in his young life for his father and little sisters. He stepped up when it was needed whether it was fair or not. Now he needs someone to watch over him and care for him like he has for so long. And no one could ever be as selfless as sweet Levi. His dad and sisters are the most important people in his lives.
I was so happy to see how Levi’s dad recognized immediately the connection between Levi and Christian and encouraged it. He knew his son had sacrificed so much for his family and just wanted the best for him. And he knew immediately that Christian was that one he could trust his son with.
This book really brought back all the Fragile Hearts boys to rally around convincing Levi to trust his feelings for Christian. Levi had always been so aloof and held back and now we understand why so it made this story all the more special seeing him break free of the walls he built around himself and let Toby’s Boys embrace him like he deserved. I did love how Toby and the gang helped Levi let Christian know he wanted him. This story was the perfect ending the the Fragile Hearts part of the series but I was concerned that we didn’t have Cameron or PJ and Joel’s stories. I was thrilled to see a new spin-off series Love On Tap: Pain & Healing is coming soon! You can guarantee I will be waiting eagerly for those to come soon.
I hope you have enjoyed this sweet series of these boys who have found their found families and their daddies at The Tap Tavern as much as I have.
