Synopsis
An angry, dead spirit is useless – until it becomes the living Haint in your bed!
Warning: This is a Razor’s Edge Monster Erotica Story. Expect limited plot and character development, and lots of paranormal heat. If you’re looking for a lengthy plot driven erotic romance, this is not it!
JD Tolliver begins research for his thesis on paranormal phenomena as a nonbeliever. He believes now. A ghost or angry spirit, a true haint, follows JD from Appalachia. His finding a suitable body so he can leave poses a problem — $it has JD by the balls@!
Coll Collins spent over a hundred years locked in silence. Suddenly freed, he discovers that gay hate crimes are not a thing of the past. The stranger he attaches himself to is sassy and, to Coll, sexy as hell. Never had the pleasure of a soft young man, and Coll plans to take advantage every single night until he returns home.
JD had waded through too many Google screens seeking stories on haints. Discovered their myth was prevalent in Appalachian areas. “Myth.” His thesis was almost finished. No inclusion of his very own ghost who’d absorbed another man’s body and who screwed JD almost nightly. Tired eyes, a multitude of reflection, led him to a barstool at the place around the corner.
Coll disappeared hours earlier to explore South Philly on his own. Lonely, JD hoped he’d turn up soon. A note with JD’s destination was propped on the hall table.
“Someone as cute as you shouldn’t be allowed to ramble Philly alone.”
Good Lord. The obnoxious asshat from before. “Waiting for my boyfriend.”
“And if he doesn’t come?”
“He will.”
Mean brown eyes squinted. “Tell you what. He roughs me up again, I’ll knock him out.”
JD prayed Coll’s arrival wasn’t imminent. Didn’t need another scuffle. “I’m not interested. In fact, I’m leaving. Have a good evening.”
“Little fucker.”
JD reached the street and before turning the corner, caught sight of the guy hot on his heels. Speeding up, he hoped to reach his apartment before the man gained on him. One more block. He didn’t make it. A hand clasped his shoulder. “No!”
The asshole forced JD against brick. “You think you’re too good for me?”
“I — I’m just not interested.”
“I could change your mind.” A cool hand snaked under his jacket. “You’ll beg for more before it’s over.”
“It’s over.”
“Coll, thank goodness.” JD rushed to stand behind him. “Let’s go. I’m okay.”
“I’m not.” Coll punched the guy in his mouth. “You were warned.”
Wiping blood from his face, the asshole yelled, “Who the hell are you? This little prick came on to me just like he did with his other boyfriend.”
“Remember me telling you to scout elsewhere?”
“Shit, man you look… you can’t be him. He wasn’t blond or as old as you.”
“It’s me and, like I said then, jackass, I’ll kill you and take your body to live in.” Coll strong-armed the man into a nearby alley. Smoke filled the air, so thick, it hid trash receptacles. Smell of cedar shrouded stench from garbage and urine.
“Coll, don’t!” JD couldn’t see him anymore. When he did, it wasn’t Coll. “Oh. My. Lord! They don’t have to be dead first?”
“Apparently not anymore.”
“Coll, what have you done?” JD stared into brown eyes that didn’t belong to his haint, whose dark hair fell onto his forehead. “You can’t do this.”
You should see what I saw in his mind. Motherfucker was going to rape you, JD.”
“You can’t know that.”
“Did you think he wanted to play patty cake?”
“Hold on, you can see in his mind?”
“Yes, until I digest his soul.”
“Do you hear yourself?”
“What do you want from me, JD?”
“Stay away from me.”
“Fine.” Head tilted. “You’ve learned enough to finish that paper you’re always going on about.”
JD raced home and locked doors behind him. “Shoot.” Coll couldn’t sleep in the street. There was so much about this place and time JD wanted to share before Coll was left on his own. Had to show him how to use a phone and he displayed no patience for punching keys on the computer. Why’d he care? The thesis. And — “I’m the one who set him free.”
