REVIEW:

The Shadow Elite is a spinoff from the Exit Strategy series by Ms. Jocelynn Drake. It follows a group of men who have been together since their army days, worked so well as a group that they decided to go into business on their own when they decided to leave government service. They have special skills that make them an elite group, they can do what no government can do legally. They can deliver justice just as swiftly.

Westin needs a break every now and then, from his team and after a job. They have been on a back-to-back mission since they met Doc Will again after several years of not seeing him. When Alexei’s handler sent him a contract that is very sketchy, he decided to go and investigate. With his team knowing where he is going, he is on his way. When he arrive in the capital of Jin, in the small country of Gaoxing, he cannot believe his eyes. It was perfect! People are friendly, they have jobs, they are accommodating and they seem to love their Royal family. So what’s wrong? Why is there a contract for the death of the Crowned Prince? Who would want their Prince dead?

Crowned Prince Jin Long Wei loves his country so much. He would do anything to save it from any harm. He would give his life in order to save it. Unbeknownst to his father, who is gravely ill and in the hospital, their country is near bankruptcy. Prince Jin did something that he thought would solve all the problems but has instead sprouted something that proved loyalty to the crown. When West arrived in Gaoxing, he was able to quell whatever plans Prince Jin had but that proved to be wrong because right after the original contract was rescinded, another one was put up and this time it was for a higher bounty which attracted more assassins into the mix.

With the increasing danger there was nothing else to do but bring in the cavalry which I love so so much! The whole team with Alexei, Soren, Justin and Gabriel were just too happy to accommodate. These guys are so amazing! Their love for their chosen family is just boundless. Add in to the mix Doc Will, Izzie and Max, and you have snark, mayhem and all the action you can get.

West deserve his happily-ever-after as well as Jin, they have done so much for their loved ones, it is time for them to have and nurture their love for each other.

I am going to miss them all but I am looking forward to a new series where we can hopefully see some of these guys again. Thank you Ms. Jocelynn Drake from creating amazing characters who are smart, snarky, funny, and would do anything in order to save their loved ones and save the day!
