Dustin is used to doing recon on all sorts of creatures, especially dragons like him, in his quest to keep dragons safe. He and his twin brother both work for a mysterious billionaire who funds dragon conservation. So he thinks nothing of it when he’s sent to check out a dragon enclave in the high desert of New Mexico. Until he meets Andy, that is. Then he knows he’s found his mate.
As Dustin and Andy struggle to find their own space yet give Andy’s brothers and moms respect, danger threatens to tear them apart. Can they keep their growing family safe, and find a way to be something new while honoring both of their traditions?
REVIEW:
Another spin-off series set in the Dragon Veil universe. And you are going to love it.
Andy, along with his brothers Jules and Puck Cuelebre, are trying to find out as much information on Dragon lore and what their moms, Angelica and Titania, believe the prophecy coming is about. When in town from their deeply secluded lair, Andy and Puck encounter a big, red haired Alpha that seemed to be following them. Dustin ‘s boss needs to know if the book collector that is grabbing everything they can get their hand on about dragon’s and their lore, is a hunter or a hidden, unknown clutch that might soon be in trouble with all that is brewing…and something mystical is definitely brewing and coming sooner than later. Clutches are being attacked by enemies. Dustin is doing what he does best, recon for his mysterious boss while his twin brother Austin does more rescue work for their boss. What Dustin doesn’t expect is a mist dragon that is his mate when he went undercover.
I am enjoying getting to know the entire Cuelebre clutch and their dynamics. The three brothers have been raised by their moms and are pretty sheltered. Andy is the geeky computer whiz that finds all the information he can get on dragons. He thinks he’s been pretty stealth in his searches and acquisitions of all things lore. But he hasn’t been as unnoticed as he thought. Devon has been sent by the boss to find out if there is a new group of dragon hunters out to wipe out their kind. I loved how these two just immediately knew something was special about the other and would be safe and comforting. Dustin is a much older and evolved dragon where Andy is younger, sheltered and naïve in dragon ways. They were the perfect pairing. And watching Dustin take things slowly because he was so careful to not rush Andy in his awakening was so sweet. I loved when he took Andy away so they could have some quiet alone time without Andy’s ever present brothers was so needed but watching Andy learn to fly was a special treat.
I really enjoyed the “brothers” dynamic in this new series. First you had the omega brothers that included the oldest Jules, the protector brother. Next came Andy, the geeky genius brother. Then came the adorable baby brother Puck, that had a special sense of all things danger or frightening (although I thing some of that was fear asked more so). Then you had the twins, Dustin and Austin. Austin was the one to go into very dangerous situations to rescue/extract a shifter while Dustin is very good at recon and surveillance of questionable groups.
You get some small glimpses of the Estes Clutch from the Dragon Hoard series as Andy and Devon meet on-line and become friends. Also Devon and Austin send their boss to help the Estes Clutch when being under attack.
This is already shaping up to be an exciting new series as each of the Cuelebre omegas finds his mate and builds on their family and clutch. I am guessing that the reluctant and skittish Puck is up next and I am assuming that Austin is his mate??? I can’t wait to see that paring come to fruition. Those two stubborn men have a long way to go. I also wonder who is strong enough to tackle the protective oldest brother Jules. I have my guesses but we will see. Can’t wait for the rest of this series. This has been a great foundation for the rest of this series.
