BLURB:
He’s a brooding, tattooed mechanic. He’s the suave manager of a famous rock band. Can opposites really attract?
The last thing Tristan Hart expects when he goes for a ride on his Harley one afternoon is that he’d pick up a gorgeous, stranded stranger on the side of the road. One who pushes his buttons in all the right ways. But James Lang isn’t the kinda of guy he’s used to dating and Tristan resigns himself to never seeing him again after he fixes his car and sends him on his way.
James is used to being in control of his life. As the manager of one of the most popular rock bands on the planet, he’s navigated plenty of storms, including the very public breakdown of the lead singer of Crazyknot. But all it takes is one soul-stirring kiss from Tristan to shatter his cool composure and make him ache for something he never thought he could have.
When circumstances beyond their control make Tristan and James’s worlds collide, their physical attraction deepens into something neither man expected. But the dark secrets James and Crazyknot have kept from the world soon come to light and the ensuing scandal threatens to ruin the lives of James’s best friend and one of Tristan’s closest childhood friend.
Can Tristan and James’s burgeoning relationship weather this latest storm? And will James finally open his heart to the man who has captivated his body, mind, and soul?
REVIEW:
Breaking down on a quiet country lane alters James’s life when Tristan stops to help him. James thinks Tristan is the typical stereotype of bad boy biker, when he says he’s a mechanic he imagines a grotty small garage which fixes bikes and trucks, so to say he’s skeptical is an understatement. Never judge a book by its cover and Tristan owns a very successful garage which specialises in high end luxury cars.
The chemistry between the two is instant and strong but neither is willing to cross the line, as they never expect to see each other ever again. Unbeknownst to them the band that James manages Crazyknot’s lead singer is involved with one of Tristan’s best friends. So, fate or friends throw them back together and their attraction is scorching with neither of them wanting to let this second chance to see what they could have together to pass them by.
They start a long distance romance and for some reason don’t mention to their respective friends that they are seeing in each, which makes the friends get togethers awkward as they pretend they’ve never met.
This is a sweet romance between the characters both of which are happy to take things slowly and see each other intermittently. Life is never easy and there are things in the past that raise their ugly heads, helping their friends through their mishaps over their relationships and difficulties with family. Help them both strengthen their relationship and letting them turn to each other during the hard times rather than facing them alone.
The lengths James went to protect Crazyknot during their early days and also help secure their first big tour. Is something he has held in, no-one in the band knew what happened and this has been the pattern, James working incredibly hard to ensure that Crazyknot are protected and secure both in the music industry and personally. Eventually the secret that James had hidden for years comes out. This was a very powerful story line and the fact that James revealed his secret to protect other vulnerable musicians was uplifting, whilst also lamenting what he had gone through as a young man. Not only did this show the depths of love between the band members and James but cemented his relationship with Tristan who supported James through the fallout of the revelations.
I enjoyed this book with a cast full of crazy characters who have solid bonds of friendships and love.
