A bad boy who lives outside the law. A compassionate soul focused on helping others. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken… for love.
Blurb
Caden
Helping my brother was my focus. He got into trouble and I’ve been using my skills in the ring to prevent loan sharks from breaking his kneecaps… or worse.
Until I met Noah.
He’s a good man who makes me want to be better. A man who doesn’t lace up his gloves and step into underground rings. But I have one last fight coming. This time the stakes are higher than ever. What I have to do to save my brother could cost me the man I’m falling for.
Noah
I should have walked away and never looked back when I first met the MMA fighter with honey-gold eyes. Yet Caden’s charms are too appealing to ignore. As a social worker it’s important for me to keep my nose clean.
And Caden is a red flag in every way.
Still, he’s hot as sin and I can’t seem to stay away. I’m taking a risk by opening myself up to him, but I’m convinced beneath that bad boy exterior beats the heart of a good man who is worth the fight.
Noah was still asleep. I could tell because he snored. Not loud, and not what had woken me up. It was actually kind of cute, more like a cat purring than a grown man making noise with his nose and throat. I had to piss, but held it in. I didn’t want to wake him, and didn’t want him to move from where he was.
I had some crazy thoughts, lying there like that. I imagined things like what if I got him a new pair of dancing slippers; would he dance for me a little? Would it make him want to take up ballet again? Probably not. But I thought about how it might make him smile.
Most people had two smiles: real and fake. Noah had a whole range of smiles, it seemed to me. One for when he thought something was funny, one for when something made him happy. One for when he was surprised, and one for when he was being polite. Now I knew he had one for when I made him feel good.
And holy mother of God, when I made Noah feel good, I knew it. I could still almost feel my hand around the smooth steel of his dick, and the way it felt against mine, and the sounds he made. Some men screamed. Noah didn’t scream. He sang.
I turned my head to breathe him in. The smell of us was mixed together, but I could smell him most in his hair; still him, unmixed with me. I could still taste him on my lips, though. It would have been crazy to say I wasn’t looking forward to washing my face, but that wasn’t far off. I wanted to smell Noah, touch him, feel him, hear his voice, see that smile more. All the time. He was a drug I was still high on.
I’d only felt that once before and not with a man or woman. I felt it in the ring, after a fight. The adrenaline rush and the adoration. Maybe I liked making people get loud, especially Noah.
Or maybe in both cases, I felt like I was doing what I was meant to do. Fight hard, and make Noah smile.
He stirred, and I went still. If he woke up, he might leave. He seemed like he wasn’t the type who would spend the night. Busy day tomorrow, I guessed.
No luck, though. Noah turned his head, and then smiled up at me. Another kind of smile. Maybe the best one so far—the smile for when he was happy to see me.
“Hey, beautiful,” I murmured into his hair, and then kissed him on the head.
“How long did we sleep?”
“Not long. But you can go back to sleep if you want.” I’d hold my piss in until the sun came up if it meant he’d stay.
