Unable to let it rest, Cian enlists the help of an army buddy and hacker to aid him in searching for Praerna via his IP address. Once found, he goes there to surprise his friend… and maybe get some answers. What he finds is that the paranormal world exists and that Praerna is a gargoyle. Cian learns that his obsession with Praerna is caused by the Fates, as they are mates—the other half of each other’s souls.

Can Cian come to grips with his new reality in time to help the gargoyles when his buddy warns him that others in the area are searching for them, too?

REVIEW:

Cian and Praerna have become friends over a gaming connection.  They have been communicating for about six months.  Cian feels like he’s like to maybe be more than friends, but when he ask Praerna to meet, he gets shot down.  Praerna cuta off all contact.  So Cian gets worried.  Praerna has shared that his community is pretty isolated so Cian assumes maybe he isn’t there totally of his own free will despite Praerna assuring hm that its’ nothing like that.  He tells Cian he’s disfigured and that he stays to his home because of that.  Having been wounded and scarred himself, this is not important to Cian.  But he’s concerned so he asks a friend to help him try to locate Praerna.

When Cian rides into the gargoyle’s estate, he has no idea what he’s about to discover 😉  He’s met by a very large man who doesn’t seem to inviting initially, but when he tells him why he’s there – that he wants to make sure Praerna is alright, well that is another matter entirely.  Praerna is quite shocked when he’s told that he has a visitor.  He did not expect Cian to try to find him.  He also doesn’t expect to discover that Cian is his mate.

Cian takes the news of paranormals pretty well.  But he’s not sure what it means for him.  He asks for some time to think about things.  But he returns and he and Praerna settle a few things.  He’s also been warned about hunters in the area and he can’t in good conscience not share that news with the gargoyle clutch.  Cian and Praerna are able to spend some time together and it’s clear that they belong together 🙂  The danger isn’t over though and help comes from unexpected places.

Well whenever there are gargoyles and impending gargoyle babies, I’m there for it 🙂  I love Praerna.  He was adorable!  He was still trying to make his way in the new world where his clutch’s leader treats everyone fairly.  His worries that Cian doesn’t want him turn out to be unfounded.  Cian is a good guy.  He’s dealing with his injury and he already is pulled to Praerna just from their online interaction.  His buddy Tyler is really helpful and I hope we see more of him in future stories 😉  The hunters continue to dog the paranormals and it’s a good thing they have friends on their side and that they are taking every precaution necessary.  AND there is going to be an egg soon!  Grecian and Jimmy are getting ready.  I sure hope that happens in the next book at least 😀  This is a fun one and fans of this series will be intrigued by Cian and Praerna and happy that they have found each other.  Looking forward to the next book!
