Why is dating with eight extra appendages so hard?
Jonas is an author in need of inspiration. After months of writer’s block, the octopus shifter finds himself being talked into a vacation to blow the cobwebs away. Stumbling onto a perfect little tea shop feels like fate, especially when he meets York, the supernatural owner who’s better than any protagonist Jonas could create.
York hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to relationships. After constantly being told he’s too much, he’s not expecting to find the love he dreams about. But York hasn’t counted on fate delivering an author straight to his doorstep, one who could give York the chance to write his own happily ever after.
But with pheromones at play, things are more complicated than they seem. Can Jonas and York puzzle their way through to find the love they deserve?
Tentacles and Tea is a novella full of tentacles, eggpreg, and a variety of teas, with a guaranteed happily ever after.
This book was released in the Tentacle Tales Anthology and is now being released on its own.
REVIEW:
I was really, really nervous about taking this one but am thankful that I wasn’t wrong and really enjoyed this quick insta-connection novella.
Jonas is suffering from such a bad case of writer’s block that his PA arranges a mini vacation to unwind and let the salt air soothe his inner octopus. What he doesn’t expect is that his inspiration comes when he enters the quaint tea shop where he can sit and unwind, watch the waves roll in and create his newest book. When he returns the next day his inspiration goes into full overload. York, the cute little owner of Tic Tac Tea, peaks his interest immediately and his inner octopus take quick notice…Mate!
I loved that this was a short sweet novella so the author gave into both men’s wants and needs quickly instead of drawing it out. From their meet cute beginning to insta-lust/need that same night, these two just knew they had met their mate. I did love that York’s fellow employee Tif kept an eye on York and pre-warned him about mating with an octopus shifter.
If there is one thing I can say bothered me it is that this story could have really used another set of eyes on the editing. I make mistakes all the time because I, unlike Jonas, am all human. And I can forgive a few mistakes. However there were more than I could let go. I’m sure it was autocorrect because the words were spelled right but they were just the wrong words. I’m actually surprised they weren’t caught before when it was part of the anthology since this is a re-release.
Even with the editing issue I became a tentacle sex book fan which I had said before would never, ever happen but I simply couldn’t miss out on one of Toby’s shifter mpreg stories. I have enjoyed his books and it’s saying something that he managed to make a convert out of me…tentacles and all! This was the perfect combination of sweet and steamy rolled into a fun, quick read.
