Can you find love when you don’t believe anyone would want you?
Logan
I can be cute, sometimes. I mean, I’m a chubby introvert, but I flaunt it when I feel it. I just don’t feel it that often. I’ve had a few nights of fun, but I’ve never had a boyfriend. No one ever wanted that from me. Tonight, the hottest man I have ever seen just asked me out, and I actually laughed in his face. He doesn’t seem to think it’s funny, and he wants to take me to dinner, not just to bed. I have one question. Why?
Caine
I just asked out the most charming man and he giggled. I’ve watched him all night long, and he is such an oxymoron, adorably fierce and subtly spectacular. I don’t know what it is about him that I am drawn to, but I want him. I don’t normally do relationships, but I’ll give up all the numbers in my little black book to see him again. I just wish he would believe me.
Beautifully Built is a contemporary MM Romance with a plus size twink struggling with self acceptance and the gorgeous ginger bar owner who can finally make him see how beautiful he is. This book includes age gap, some nerdy love, and one monstrous kitten. Join the employees and patrons of Built Bar as they find love for themselves and each other.
REVIEW:
Sometimes you come across a story, that is just so beautifully written, you wonder how you missed out this series. TH Compton is a new to me author and I was truly blown away by this. Her world building is fabulous. I love how TH chose to use a bar as the backdrop for this whole series. It creates a warm and inviting environment for love to thrive.
Her character building was very thorough and carried over to her side characters. Caine and Logan are such wonderful characters. They don’t hide from their personal baggage and have chosen to embrace it, in hopes of creating a better positive lifestyle. The side characters created in this book are so good. Emmett and Syl are the best friends, and I just can’t wait to see if they develop into main characters. The side character that steals the show, however, is Hulk. Hulk is a cat with a bigger than life personality and she can create some of the funniest scenes in the book.
Which leads me to audio portion of my review. John Solo was the perfect choice to narrate this book. Sometimes you can tell when a narrator is not all in on their narration performance. That was not the case with this audio. John embraced each character with a well thought out plan for his performance. From the rough and tumble bar owner, the reclusive co-owner, to the geeky nerd, and the over-the-top sassy best friend. The choices made were perfect and brought the story to life. So much so, that I wasn’t distracted by his performance and became absorbed in the story. This is a shorter listen, but it is chocked full of sweet poignant moments, and super growly sexy times.
I can’t remember the last time I gave a 5 star review to a new author, but this one deserves it, not only for how well the words were written, but for the fantastic performance of John Solo. I highly recommend this audio book and I look forward to reading/listening to the next books in this series. Enjoy a little insta love and grab this audio. You won’t regret it.
