“Help raise money to improve our habitat! For a small donation, we’ll name a fish after your ex and feed it to the bears on Valentine’s Day!”
For Garrett Mitchell, who just found out his butthead of an ex-boyfriend cheated on him, that donation is money well spent.
And Tristan Waverly was just unceremoniously dumped by a man who is absolutely worthy of being tossed to hungry bears, so he’s more than happy to buy a fish.
As the bears chow down, though, everyone’s wondering the same thing—is it a coincidence, or are both fish named after the same guy?
There’s only one way to find out.
But when Garrett and Tristan come face to face, suddenly the last man either wants to think about is Kevin.
2 Dead Fish Named Kevin is a light, fluffy, and short Valentine’s Day romance (22,500 words).
REVIEW:
Garrett is spending Valentine’s day at the zoo. He’s “celebrating” the day by watching a bear tear into a fish named for his ex, Kevin. Kevin, it turns out, was not only a bad controlling boyfriend, but also a cheater. But when they get to Garrett’s fish, turns out there is someone else there who also has an ex named Kevin, so two fish named Kevin? What are the odds?
When Garrett meets Tristan, he’s an adorable cute guy who loves animals. And they have more in common than a rotten ex named Kevin. What starts out as a lark to gain some satisfaction and closure from a bad ex leads to a fun day at the zoo getting to know each other. And maybe, just maybe, this could be the start of something new?
OMG. This is ADORABLE in the very best way. Garrett and Tristan are such nice guys and didn’t deserve the cheating and controlling and generally bad boyfriend behavior that they’ve each been subjected to. They discover they like a lot of the same things and spend the day having fun seeing the animals at the zoo and learning more about each other. They are definitely compatible in a number of ways and though it’s a surprise to both of them, they discover that they are very attracted and want to get to know each other better. They are both a little nervous (which is cute as heck) and hope that this isn’t a mistake that they might want to spend more time together 😉 And there are some really sweet rescue cats too! I so enjoyed this little bit of Valentine’s Day happiness. It’s well worth the two hours + listen. I just adored the performance here from Michael Ferraiuolo. This narrator/author duo is a match made in heaven. There is plenty of humor and a little bit of steam and some freaking adorable zoo animals. The zookeepers are hilarious and I loved Michael’s characterizations of all these folks. Just a lovely experience and a perfect bit of happiness in an otherwise pretty dreary month 😉 Recommended.
