REVIEW:
I love Ms. Charlie Cochet! Whenever I read her books, I am sure I will be reading it non-stop, laughing, swooning and clamoring for more in the end. I love Four Kings Security, I miss those guys. In this sort of spinoff, we have Gage Kingston who is Ward “King” Kingston’s cousin. As we know, King is the leader of Four Kings Security whose partners in the business are his best buddies, Ace, Red and Lucky.
Gage is about to be married, literally minutes away from it actually, when he started having doubts about it. And because of those doubts he ran. He ran right into the arms of his ex-boyfriend Jett. Because of some personal problems, they parted ways several years prior. Now Gage is running away from his ex-fiance’s father’s goons and sought out the help of his ex-boyfriend.
Jett drifted away and eventually broke Gage’s heart when his father died a few years ago, thus the reason for their separation. But clearly they are not over each other and when this second chance presented itself, they both grabbed it. Although the situation was not really ideal because they are on the run, it gave them the opportunity to get to know each other all over again. And we don’t normally get second chances, right? It shouldn’t be wasted at all.
As is typically in every Charlie Cochet book, you can expect smart banter, chases (right?) and just fun, pure fun. You can’t help but smile a lot when you read her books, and this one is no exception. There are light moments and there are also sexy moments, there might be some instances when some revelations happen especially with Bas, Jett’s band’s manager who is also his uncle. There were some scenes that were a bit rushed but overall, it doesn’t deter the reading from having a really fun read of this light-hearted sweet second-chance romance.
I love these kinds of stories and I have been a fan of Ms. Charlie Cochet since Four Kings Security. If you are looking for a light read with lots of fun and smart banter, then this is definitely for you. I am looking forward to the second book, which will be that of Kayden and Reid.
