REVIEW:
It’s decided, Allesandro Acierno has to kill the last from the list, those who are the brain behind Paolo’s kidnapping. (read book 2)
There’s a big issue, one seems to have a bodyguard named Blue, and exactly that guy broke Allesandro’s heart.
It’s been twelve years since Blue left, he is the one who protects people and Allesandro is the one who kills. It was too complicated, Allesandro being part of the mafia family.
Meeting again after all these years isn’t easy, they’re still attracted and feel connected, there will never be someone else, no other Daddy, and no other boy.
Besides the moments when they are together, we are also witnessing the complications of family and business. Blue’s boss has other interests than Allesandro’s.
To be honest, I hoped to enjoy this story more than I did. There were too many distracting matters in this story, I wanted more focus on Blue and Alessandro’s lives, their past, and present time. So, yeah sorry, I skipped some parts. The assassin and bodyguard parts I did read were well thought out. As was the whole Darker Daddy bodyguards concept.
While I love this series, this one was, for me, not quite satisfying. There are a few things that got in the way, first, I couldn’t feel the main characters and their feelings, second, the Daddy/boy dynamic wasn’t palpable, and third, the twelve years gap, I didn’t understand the timeline. So while reading I constantly tried to connect, and feel, but it didn’t work.
I’m not sure if it was me, or maybe the story was too focused on rounding up the whole series and the Acierno family matters and lost sight of the main characters.
The series in its entirety was quite entertaining, well-thought-out, and well-written.
