BLURB:
Orion’s life turns upside down when someone outs him as the first Omega in the NHL…that anybody knows of. Now, he has to wrestle with the decisions he made throughout his life to keep that secret hidden—including the man he left a decade earlier.
Problem is, that man is Gabriel McKenna, Captain of the Gotham Hounds. Seeing as Orion captains the Brooklyn Cats, their relationship is more one of hate than love at the moment.
Or so he tells himself.
Orion has enough difficulties dealing with idiots on the ice thinking they can put him on his knees just because they know he’s an Omega. He doesn’t need to suddenly reconnect with his old flame. Doesn’t need to deal with the feelings he thought he’d buried long ago.
Orion is trying to escape the memories of the best year of his life, but the past is catching up with him. After the way Orion left, after all the fights on the ice, he doesn’t know if he deserves a second chance…
But he might want one anyway.
This book is a steamy rivals-to-lovers story with a complicated past. It is the second book in the Alpha Omega Hockey series but can be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
Dang, that was a good solid read!
Orion always felt like an Alpha, he plays hockey and would in the future. Imagine his shock when he presented as Omega at fifteen. He didn’t accept it.
Medication to suppress all omega effects worked fine for him. He kept everything hidden.
Now ten years later he plays in the NHL and is captain of the Brooklyn Cats.
So far so good, until… someone outed him. At first, it seemed everything was going to be okay, but of course, some assholes used it against him on the ice.
There are more things he kept hidden and locked away inside his heart and brain, Gabriel McKenna, Captain of the Queen’s Hounds is one of them, it’s been ten years since he left him.
Imagine, you have something intense together, and it ends, it seems unfair, one party acts as if it’s nothing and the other has to live with the devastating consequences.
Gabriel is not amused to reconnect with Orion, even if it’s to help the next generation with hockey.
He’s clear about it, he’s angry. There’s an amount of miscommunication and misunderstanding, and bit by bit it’s getting revealed before our eyes..
Being around each other starts with anger, frustration, jealousy, hurt, and fights, and ends with the complete opposite.
Watch them, ALL those emotions running over the pages were everything.
What a wonderfully written story, it was compelling and all-consuming, super intense, and hot AF.
I was glued to the pages. Gabriel and Orion are so compatible, so intense together. They are wonderfully developed!
Fun thing, I don’t know anything about hockey, nothing at all, I looked it up online to understand some terms.
Overall a winner I read in one sit, with a focus on just the right things, with extremely lovable characters, the whole path from ex-lovers, to enemies, to lovers was super enjoyable!
