We’ll make it our Valentine’s—and the best show on Earth.
Everyone believes movie star Charlie Kearney lives a charmed life, not least because he recently returned to his hometown of Littleton with enigmatic fashion designer Jacques Clement on his arm. Their whirlwind romance and high-profile engagement have kept Charlie trending on the socials for weeks, and his management company couldn’t be happier.
But there’s just one problem. Charlie and Jacques aren’t engaged. They aren’t even in a relationship. Charlie needed someone to bring home for Christmas and had also hoped the news of their ‘engagement’ might tempt an old flame.
Things haven’t quite gone according to plan. Now Charlie feels he has no choice but to ask Jacques to continue with the charade, even though his fake fiancé has a Valentine’s Day fashion show in Paris to prepare for. Jacques agrees to stay, but Charlie is now beginning to wonder if saving face is the only reason he’s so desperate to keep Jacques in Littleton.
REVIEW:
This is a sweet read, I know I have to accept it’s a story with only 61 pages, and I do. That doesn’t take away the wish that it was a bit longer. I love this author’s stories. It has something graceful and delicate.
Keeping up appearance, for the social media world, that’s how movie star Charlie lives his life. Playing fake boyfriends with fashion designer Jacques is one of these moves.
Jacques insists they ‘breakup’ after the Valentine’s ‘ Fashion show. What Charlie couldn’t foresee were all these feelings for Jacques.
Charlie hoped to attract attention from his ex with a beautiful enigmatic (fake) fiancé at his arm. At some point, he forgot his ex and only saw Jacques. But sweet gentle Jacques doesn’t want to talk when Charlie wants to.
Besides the relationship matters, we can follow Jacques and his fashion show. I loved his world. I loved his personality, even though it was mostly from Charlie’s perspective. I would have loved to see more from his side, his feelings. I know… it’s a shorty. Still, we get a good impression of what the point is.
Even with some little comments, it was a beautiful read with attractive content. The plot was nice, and the writing engaging.
