BLURB:
Brando Lombardi has successfully matched all three of his brothers with their soulmates, gifting them each with a lifetime of love and happiness. The problem is, Brando himself is always the bridesmaid and never the bride… er, groom. But then he meets a broken-hearted man in uniform who takes his breath away and changes everything.
Still recovering from the death of his partner, retired marine Jagger Clifton moved to Maine in search of a desperately needed change of scene. He didn’t count on the Lombardi family hitting him like a ton of bricks with their warmth, sincerity, and pasta. For the first time since Seth’s death, Jagger doesn’t entirely dread a long, lonely winter.
Talked into joining Amore Matchmaking, Jagger dives in, ready to get his life back on track—until his very first match stands him up. Filling in for the missing date is none other than Brando Lombardi. Brando is cocky and self-assured, but also determined to gift Jagger with the ultimate Amore experience, even if he has to do it all himself.
As the holidays approach, Jagger and Brando’s feelings grow with every Amore date. More than just another victim of “Brando being Brando,” Jagger is helpless but to revive a part of his soul he’d thought gone forever. But will a Christmas blizzard bring them the joy of the season or bury their budding romance in a mountain of ice?
Perfect Match is book four in the completed Amore Matchmaking series. It features four gay brothers, their eccentric mother, an ornery goat, and way too much pasta.
REVIEW:
Brando has been doing his best to be the man he thinks his father wanted him to be. Helping his brothers find love has helped him feel like maybe there’s more to him than most people think.
Jagger is trying hard to move on with his life after losing someone, but its not easy. When he meets Brando he feels like maybe he actually has a chance.
I’ve been waiting for Brando’s story. After working so hard to help the people he loves, it was time for him to get a bit of happiness for himself. This whole series has been one big bunch of happiness and sweetness. Athena is the most wonderful mother. Every queer person deserves a parent like her.
I love catching up on little bits of the happily-ever-after’s of the Lombardi brothers and seeing what happens after their stories end. Brando’s transition over the 4 books is really well done. He started out as kind of goofy in the first book, but we’ve watched him grow into himself as the stories went on.
Jagger is a character that really called to my heart. He’s trying so hard to fit back into his civilian life, and being alone doesn’t help. I can’t imagine what it must be like coming home from war and not knowing where you stand.
This author does this kind of story very well. Its sweet but not toothache inducing. The characters are relatable and easy to cheer for. The sex is incredibly hot but doesn’t take over the whole story. I am not as enthused about the whole “magic healing dick” as I used to be. I appreciate when characters actually talk and figure things out instead of just ignoring them all to have sex.
This whole series has been well rounded and enjoyable. There were no real surprises and it’s always very obvious where they are going, but if you are looking to escape from reality for a while, this series is for you. You need to read them all in order to get the full effect so make sure you do.
I promise you that you will have a smile on your face at the end of every book.
