Happy New Year, as this is my first post for 2023.
I’m juggling a couple of promotions and getting my ducks in a row for my upcoming release, Postscript. More on that one next month as it will be out in the world by then.
The two promotions I’m in this month also relate to Postscript, and a lot of what I write.
I love shared universes, especially when characters from different books and series know each other, and pop in to help out or just say hi. Most of my books are set in the same world, although some more obviously than others.
The Sleepless City is a shared world between myself and Elizabeth Noble. We wrote a series together called that, and are now each writing books set in that world.
Double Exposure the first book in my Pōneke Shadows series continues the story of two of the MCs from that original series, Ben and Simon. I loved being able to relocate them to Wellington, and have them solving more supernatural related murders with a new team.
As an aside, Simon makes a cameo in On Wings of Song. He figured as I needed a character in the trenches of WWI and he was already there….
Postscript, which is book 1 of Kedgetown is also set in The Sleepless City shared world, although it’s a cozy small-town story with a dash of paranormal and psi. It also hooks into Kiwi Psi which I’m aiming to launch later in the year as Mason’s sister, Fiona, and her friend Ennis, who works with Ben’s friend, Ange, appear in that series.
Expect a few crossovers along the way…
And some furbabies, as cats have a habit of turning up in my books. Get ready to meet Wordsworth, a bookshop cat, and Catsby who lives in an old, supposedly haunted house in Northland, Wellington.
