BLURB:
Just a little Love Bite: A friendly human manages to extricate his life from the seedy streets… until a specter from his past comes calling.
Years before, Saul Mandisa came to Vegas to work on stage… only to find out it requires a lot of dancing, and he has two left feet. When his minimum wage job didn’t quite cover food and rent, he took a few side hustles that he wasn’t proud of. Finally landing steady work allowed him to extricate himself from that life… or so Saul thought.
Even after five years, Saul would never forget Reagan the Hammer—right hand and enforcer to the infamous crime boss—Luigi Arnasta. At first, he ignores Reagan’s calls. Then he does his best to avoid the man—and his henchmen—at all costs. After all, Saul wants nothing to do with that life, and he never had. His luck runs out when he meets a couple of friends for drinks and discovers one of them essentially sold him out.
To Saul’s shock, a sexy Frenchman steps in and sends Reagan packing—a man named Jean-Paul Tremblay. When Saul discovers his savior is a vampire who seems to think he’s the other half of Jean-Paul’s soul, will he risk taking a chance on the devil he doesn’t know?
REVIEW:
Note: While this is the 24th book in this series, it can be read as a standalone. Some of the characters were featured in previous books, so slight spoilers for those books but it won’t impact the stories of each of the couples.
Saul is a host/waiter at a high end restaurant in Vegas. But in his past, he drove for a mob boss. Now that boss wants him back. He’s been avoiding the calls, but when a friend sells him out, he’s back in their sights. Enter Jean-Paul Tremblay, coven master of the Montpellier France coven. He just happens to be in Vegas on vacation meeting friends. He stops in a wine bar, and scents his beloved. He manages to scare off the boss enforcers. Jean-Paul convinces Saul to spend the night with him and he pretty quickly explains about paranormals and Saul faints. But when he finds out, he accepts Jean-Paul and moves on. The mob doesn’t give up.
This is a really fun one! Saul and Jean-Paul hit it off and are quite hot together. I was glad was see some old favorites from previous stories. Is the formula still there? Of course. But this is a fun story with some great shout outs to Las Vegas and I enjoyed it all 🙂 Recommended for fans of the series and this author. I think you’ll like it!
