Neil Watkins isn’t too surprised to receive an invitation to Rob Asher and Ben Rockingham’s wedding. After all, he’s been best friends with Ben’s son Kyle for several years. But he is excited to be invited to join them on the honeymoon – a party for a select group of family and friends on an all-expense paid Mediterranean cruise. He’s hesitant at first, but Kyle convinces him to go. Well, his own love life sucks at the moment. Maybe he’ll have better luck in the Med.
When he receives an invitation to their wedding and honeymoon party, Matthew Palmer balks at the idea of joining Rob and Ben on their honeymoon cruise. The master jeweler, a friend to both men, thinks the offer is way too generous, but Rob’s best friend Samantha persuades him to rethink his decision. His last relationship really knocked him for a loop, and maybe Sam was right, and he should think about himself for a change.
When Neil and Matthew meet, unexpected and undeniable sparks fly. Has their luck finally changed? Can this really be their second chance at love in the Mediterranean?
REVIEW:
I love this series by RJ Peterson.
This is the fourth book in this series and these books should be read in order, as each book builds on the previous one, especially this one.
In this book we get Neil and Matthew’s story. Their story is interspersed amongst the wedding and subsequent family and friends “honeymoon” of Rob and Ben – who we met in the first two books in the series.
Low angst, lots of sexy times and great visuals of the all the places they see while on the “honeymoon” cruise. I fell in love with RJ’s characters from his first book and my love for his characters keeps me coming back for more.
In this book, we find our main characters at a point in their lives, when they are about to give up on finding Mr. Right. As part of Rob and Ben’s extended inner circle, they are invited to not only the wedding but the “honeymoon” cruise as well. As luck would have it, their suites on the cruise just happen to be right next to each other.
Can we say close proximity makes the heart grow fonder…
RJ continues to enhance his worldbuilding skills with this book. He is so visually descriptive of the life on-board ship, the ship itself and the spectacular ports of call. While all previous book characters appear in this story, hence why you need to read the previous books in the series.
This one focuses on Neil and Matthew finding their way to and with each other. Even as he creates the backstory of the main characters, he continues to enhance and fill in more of the lives of the side characters.
If you enjoy sweet cozy, low angst romance stories, then this series is for you. As I finished another wonderful and well written story, I’m extremely excited for the next book in his hinted at new series.
Keep them coming RJ, I’m really looking forward to the next book release.
