Monster Hunter Holidays for Love Bytes

How do the guys who hunt the things that go bump in the night spend the holidays? What would you do for downtime in between banishing banshees and ganking ghosts?
All five of my Morgan Brice series have main characters who go toe to toe with supernatural baddies. But while they have that in common, their personalities and circumstances—and their idea of a good time—are very different. So here’s my thoughts on how my guys would spend the holidays.
Witchbane—Seth and Evan live in an RV, so space is tight. Even so, they manage to get a small tree and decorate it, and string lights inside. They love to watch Christmas specials and while they might make a favorite meal for Christmas Eve, they’ll probably pick up a pre-cooked meal with all the trimmings for Christmas.
Badlands—Simon and Vic have a 1940s bungalow only a block from Myrtle Beach. Simon found a vintage silver metallic tree and beachy ornaments in the attic, so that sets the tone. Since the weather is likely to be mild, Simon and Vic probably invite friends over and grill.
Treasure Trail—Erik and Ben are in Cape May, NJ so it’s cold at Christmas! They’ll set up a tree in the apartment they now share, with ornaments from the local artists and crafters. Their friends Arjun and Jaxon will invite everyone over to their place for a holiday shindig and awesome homemade Indian food.
Kings of the Mountain—Dawson and Grady probably have snow for Christmas in the mountains of North Carolina. They’ll spend the holiday with family—lots of King cousins on Cunanoon Mountain. Expect a big holiday potluck dinner with plenty of desserts!
Fox Hollow—There’ll be plenty of snow in the Adirondacks for Christmas. Russ, Liam and the rest of their shifter friends will open presents in the morning, then go for a run in their fur after lunch. Russ, Liam, Noah and Drew will have their Christmas at the cabin, and probably spend Christmas Eve watching favorite old Christmas specials!
That’s my head canon for what goes on the Morgan Brice universe for the holidays!
