Everyone except the handsome and muscular man who is flailing around like a newborn faun on the ice. Elijah is more than happy to rescue the sexy stranger, even though it’s Elijah who truly wishes to be cherished.
What starts as a sweet meet-cute quickly leads to an awkward misunderstanding and eventually turns into one hot hookup.
When Nathan and Elijah collide they try to fight it, but their chemistry is undeniable. They can’t seem to keep their hands to themselves, and fate, or something like it, keeps pushing them together. Also, who in the freaking sugar cookies keeps hanging mistletoe everywhere?
Mistletoe Wishes & Hookups is a small-town Christmas MM romance filled with letters, holiday cheer, DIY projects, steamy nights, and all the winter-themed drinks.
REVIEW:
I love when multi-author series give you different stories based on the same theme and this book was a true Christmas gift. I just wish I had some of those yummy beverages the author described while reading this the book. .
Nathan may be an important CEO of a highly successful company based in Sunny Southern California but he’s never too busy for his little sister and her adorable twins. So off to Maine he flies to help her out in her time of need. What he never expected was to fall literally into the arms of one of the most stunning men he has ever laid eyes on while attempting to ice skate. Elijah just has to get through this last holiday season in Skystead before he is finally out of this town. Between losing his beloved Nana and his homophobic boss Albert making his life miserable he can’t wait to move to California. Too much hurt and misery to stay there any longer. But when a gorgeous man stumbles and he catches him on the ice things seem to be looking up. But can there be more than Mistletoe Wishes & Hookups when both men are only in town until the new year?
I love when two men are so dense that they literally can’t see what is smack in front of them! And none of their friends seem to want to share what’s up. It was like the old movies where predicaments keep arising to keep the love interests apart and unfortunately, with Elijah’s past track record with cheating and closeted ex’s, his trust was very impaired. So naturally his mind would go to the worse case scenario even if he knew that Nathan wasn’t like those other guys and showed it repeatedly. But the sad truth is that they each had never experienced someone that was perfect for them and loved them as they truly are. Not for money, not for fame, not to change who they really are but for the man in front of them. And their two personalities were the perfect ying to the other’s yang.
I will say that Nana’s final gift and letter got to me and I couldn’t help but cry. She loved Elijah with all her heart and I think she might have helped, with a little magic from beyond, to make sure her ma petite giraffe was well taken care of. She knew he deserved to be loved for the true Elijah, makeup, colorful scarfs, silky things hidden under his clothes and all and Nathan did. I did love that both men chose hidden underwear as their dig at the norm.
I am really hoping that this turn’s into a series. I know this is Author Kota Quinn’s first solo book and she has developed such a great universe that you can’t help but desire to return to. I really, really need Jude to get his HEA. It would be the perfect opportunity for him to get the love he sees happening to his best friend Elijah and for us to get to see Elijah and Nathan back in Olivia Cove and develop a storyline there. But I also need to have Nathan’s friends in Skystead get theirs too. Brian was key in helping out his buddy Nate get Elijah but also has been a true friend for years to him and his ex Katie. He helped keep their secret so Katie could have the life she needed without interference from her homophobic parents. Dante seems to be right there ready to be on board to give Brian what he needs too. That can help lead into what will be an emotional redemption story for Albert. Yes he has been the worst of the worst tormentors to Elijah for so many years but I’m pretty sure his story is going to gut me.
As you can tell, I’m pretty emotionally attached to this book and hopefully new series and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Snuggle up in a soft fuzzy blanket with a warm sweet drink and get ready for a true Christmas treat.
