Sebastian
I wanted to be the best; that was always the goal, and getting out from under my tyrant of a boss and setting up a business with my brother was the way I achieved that.
But, in order to maintain the advantage, I have to network. Unfortunately, these events are less than the social highlight I imagined them to be but, when I ditch the expected fiery redheaded woman for a night of passion with someone completely unexpected, sparks fly.
It’s a one-off, or that’s what I tell myself.
An indulgence I can’t be allowed if I want to succeed. And I do. I will.
Walker
I’m struggling. That’s how these things always start, right?
Things are hard and someone rushes in to my rescue and magically fixes every problem I’ve ever had with nothing more than a click of their fingers. Unfortunately, I live in the real world where you have to fix problems yourself, which is how I found myself signing a contract with one of the most renowned advertising companies in the area.
What I wasn’t expecting, was the man I had a one-night stand with to be my new manager, and it’s more than clear the rest of the world doesn’t know what I do about him.
There are more than hearts on the line in this whirlwind romance. Will Sebastian give in to his indulgence and fight for his man? Or will Walker’s dreams crumble alongside the love he thought he had?
REVIEW:
A story about two men who had more in common than one would see and think at first glance.
We have Sebastian who has been putting time learning the ropes of the business he wants to have of his own one day. And he is very good at it. Working under a boss who is a tyrant and doesn’t really deserve all the success because he didn’t really put in the time needed to make his business successful, he lets others do the work for him, specifically Sebastian and his brother. And what’s worse is that the takes all the credit for himself.
Walker’s bar is not as successful as he hoped it would be, and he is giving himself until the end of his lease contract to make it such or else he will lose all his life’s savings. The business is his whole life. He needs to hire a good advertising firm that will help him market his bar. With the help of his best friend, he was able to secure an invitation to an exclusive event where the sponsor is the firm that he wants to work on his bar.
The attraction was instantaneous between the two when their eyes met the first time that at times, the real reason for being in the event was forgotten because they cannot focus on anything else. Unbeknownst to Walker, Sebastian is the man he wanted to handle the marketing of his bar. But while he is out and proud, Sebastian is as deep in the closet as could be.
Being able to set out on his own, with his brother as his partner, has been their dream ever since they started working under their tyrant of a boss. But Sebastian is afraid of outing himself whenever he is with Walker. He is afraid that people will not accept who he really is and thus will not hire his company. Thus sets the tone of this beautiful story.
Ms. Sophia Nixs is a first to me author and I am happy that I am given the chance to review her work. While there were times when I didn’t understand what was happening and why it was happening, overall her writing is amazing and she is giving us a glimpse of the thoughts of someone who is afraid to let his real self out, afraid of the stigma of what others might think, afraid it will affect the way people will look at him and eventually his business. This is as real as it gets.
Both Sebastian and Walker have their own dreams and success of these dreams are utmost in their minds but putting their hearts together and working towards a common goal, success, might just be the thing they need to do in order to get to them.
