The first rule of being an attorney is don’t sleep with your clients.
The second rule is…see the first rule.
Those guidelines don’t account for a man like Zane Archer though. The major leaguer is all confidence and big D energy as he swaggers into my life, determined to have his way with me.
I’m so damn tempted to say yes, especially when my sinfully sexy new client devastates me with a scorching kiss that has me reconsidering all my life choices.
The catch? If I go home with him, my job representing the most bankable stars in pro sports is on the line.
Including my job striking the deal of a lifetime for him—one he sorely needs to take care of his family.
But as we work together, all these days I spend resisting him are enough to break a man.
I rip up the damn rulebook one night…and in the morning, I’m paying a hell of a price.
REVIEW:
With the number of deliciously steamy titles Lauren Blakely produces, you’d think you’ve read and heard it all. Well, in her latest steamy, dreamy MM romance, Turn Me On, she reminds us she’s still got plenty of tricks up her sleeve. Turn Me On is undoubtedly Blakely’s sultriest, steamiest, kinkiest MM title yet. This supercharged, BDE-laden, forbidden romance overflows with masculine, testosterone-filled vibes between two highly successful, charismatic, strong-willed, confident personalities. Zane has swagger for days, and Maddox displays an addictive duality between self-assured, tight control, and the need to hand the reins over to a man he can trust to turn him on and turn him out. He lives by the rulebook but can’t resist ripping up all the pages.
While Turn Me On doesn’t plumb the depths that Blakely often achieves in her romantic character studies, she gets her point across clearly: This story is all about trust, in and out of the bedroom, and Blakely serves it up in racy style. She also brings on board arguably two of the sexiest voices around to bring Zane and Maddox’s dom/sub-lite dynamic to life: her narrator go-to’s, Teddy Hamilton (as Maddox) and Jacob Morgan (as Zane).
The casting is perfection. Morgan oozes vocal swagger – a match made in heaven for Zane’s BDE. You can visualize Zane’s cocky, I-know-what-I-want-and-I’m-going-to-get-it attitude in his confident, come-hither stride, and Morgan’s voice exudes enough BDE swagger to mimic the movement and light up a city in the process.
Hamilton is no slouch, either. His voice exudes confidence with depth that allows for vulnerability too. He’s able to bring Maddox’s personal quest for that holy grail of lovers – a guy that is strong and confident enough to tie him up and tie him down, just how he likes it, but who is also generous and thoughtful enough to make sure he treats Maddox right. In short: Hamilton’s voice has a texture that shows the many aspects of Maddox and his needs, his burdens, and desires. Listening to Maddox sizzle on the pages through Hamilton’s sizzling, smoky voice is sure to turn anyone on. Yes, he’s that good.
I highly recommend Turn Me On – a decadent, slightly twisty treat of a romance that you can only appreciate fully if you hear it as only Hamilton and Morgan can perform it. No one can deliver Blakely’s kind of flirty, dirty banter and sexy, innuendo-filled dialogue like this narrator duo. It’s a match made in heaven. But there’s nothing angelic about Zane and Maddox. Just pure lust, raw heat, and, surprisingly, a deep love, affection, and trust that neither saw coming or thought they’d ever find. Highly recommended.
