BLURB:
Detective Micah Hart wasn’t sure when his fairly safe, predictable life became something more closely resembling a dumpster fire.
But if he had to pinpoint an exact moment, he would say it was the first time he went undercover as a prostitute in an attempt to bait the notorious serial killer who was stalking New York City’s streets – the media-dubbed Hooker Hunter.
It’s when Damon Romano plows into his life, with his fierce protective energy, and those thick thighs, and the bluest pair of eyes Micah has ever seen.
If only he wasn’t also a temperamental mafioso in charge of running one of the city’s largest criminal empires.
Damon fixates on Micah, obsessing over feeding him and making sure he always has a coat. He spoils him rotten with gifts and insists on taking Micah on as his personal escort – a “boyfriend” to get his nagging sisters off his back.
It’s weirdly sweet, and Micah doesn’t know how he’s become a soft spot in the ruthless man’s otherwise hardened exterior, but it would be a lie to say he didn’t want even more: a real relationship with Damon.
There was just one teensy, tiny problem with that.
Despite what Damon thinks, Micah isn’t actually a prostitute. He’s a cop for the NYPD.
Pretty Policeman is an MM billionaire/mafia romance, sprinkled liberally with rom-com elements, served with a side helping of sugar daddy kink and mistaken identity trope.
REVIEW:
Damon steps into Micah’s life as Prince Charming on a white horse. He saves him from the streets and gives him food and shelter. Only…. Micah doesn’t need any of it, because, he isn’t a prostitute, he’s an undercover cop, trying to catch a serial killer.
Imagine this, meeting a breathtakingly handsome, super rich (penthouse in Manhattan, not one but plural) guy, protective af, who’s also a mafia boss, and you are a poor detective, incognito as a prostitute to catch a serial killer. What are the odds? But it’s Micah’s reality. The man is obsessed with Micah and protective to no end.
Damon is obsessed with Micah, he takes him with him, there are private jet trips, to beautiful Italy, and houses with all the luxury you can think of. Still, let’s not forget, there’s a serious threat, and there’s still the fact Damon doesn’t know Micah is a cop.
Imagine what would happen when he’d find out. Micah wants to protect his heart, but it’s a lost cause.
I’m not gonna spoil it, just read it yourself. It’s all super SUPER entertaining! Keep in mind there are ruthless and vicious people and there is still a serial killer to catch.
I absorb these 454 pages, I could easily do another 400, there was not one dull moment.
And oh my freaking goodness, I love some protective billionaire who throws money, who has a soft spot, and who does everything to make Micah happy and content. I hugely enjoyed it all, even where I saw things coming, there were some other events I didn’t expect I was completely surprised by. I was totally glued to the story!
Micah has on one side connections with the mafia, and on the other side the police force. Both sides bring a lot of intriguing and exciting moments. Some are even hurtful and vicious, but also watch the humorful ones!
The main characters are nicely developed. This is a debut novel, I’m flabbergasted, how is this possible, the author did an amazing job!
One drawback with this mesmerizingly written story, it took some of my night rest. I couldn’t stop reading. I had to stop because it was a long read. I really really didn’t want to stop!
The first thing I did when I woke up picked it up and start reading. I was sad when finished, some books should never stop, so I did read several parts again.
Overall a super duper entertaining rollercoaster ride, I didn’t want it to end!
