BLURB:
From the author of the popular Taking Care trilogy, comes another heartwarming older boy/younger Daddy romance.
When my mother asks me to keep an eye on her ex-husband, she doesn’t mention that I should keep my hands off him. That means he’s fair game, right?
My mother’s ex-husband, Mason, was never right for her.
He can’t hold down a job.
He has no sense of self-preservation.
And he lacks the resolve to take control of his life.
I never thought they belonged together
Why then did he seem like the perfect match for the Daddy that I am?
When I take a few days off for the holiday to relax, the last person I expect to see in our cabin next door is Mason.
His naïveté brings out my protective instincts.
The brilliant artistic talent he hides makes me want to show him off to the world.
And the way he looks at me has me longing to taste what’s forbidden between us.
Mason seems to feel the same way I do, but can I convince him to return home with me and allow me to take care of him?
Dashing and Daddy is a stand-alone holiday romance with an older boy who needs guidance in his life and a younger Daddy craving to give it to him.
REVIEW:
“Nothing was normal about having dinner together on Christmas Day with my boyfriend, his mother, who was my ex-wife, and her husband.”
This line from this sweet daddy book summed it up so perfectly that I had to include it. Mason was so down on his luck that he literally wound up drunk on his ex-wife’s doorstep. His now married ex-wife. He’s homeless and willing to do just about anything to afford a bit of food including suffer at the hands of his recently ex-boyfriend that resulted in his second hospitalization. Now he’s up in his ex-wife’s cabin and managed to land a badly paying job with all the wrong benefits. That all comes to a halt when his former stepson Dillon comes to his rescue. Dillion has had the hots for Mason for years. Mason and his mom were never right for each other but he’s the perfect needy, older boy for his inner Daddy to spoil and take care of. Now all he has to do is convince Mason Daddy’s right!
This book is full of ex’s…ex-wife, ex-stepson, ex-abusive bully boyfriend, ex-stepdad. So even though this may have been a insta-love/lust situation it has been brewing for many years, at least for Dillon, and was bound to be explosive when both men finally let down their guard. Dillion is the perfect Daddy for Mason’s needs and Mason needs someone to take charge and help him with his life.
I enjoy books where the dominate character is younger and takes charge of his life. I first fell for Gianni when she published the Taking Care Trilogy and fell in love with Owen and his younger Daddy Declan. Although both of these stories feature an older boy with a rich younger daddy that is where the similarities end. Mason is literally starving and homeless. He needs someone to take over his life and get him back on course…living and enjoying life, not struggling to barely get by and survive. And Dillon is the perfect daddy to do that. I loved how Dillon brought Mason out of his lowest point and never stopped showing him him much he loved and needed him. His patience and tender caring made you have to have them get their hard earned HEA.
