Can Sami and Joakim’s relationship survive accusations of cheating, a thrown wineglass, and eight months of silence?
Hurtful words and a thrown wineglass in a fit of jealousy tear Sami and Joakim apart; fiery tempers and stubbornness keep them from making up. But then, after eight months without a single word, just as Sami is about to make the first move, Joakim shows up, eager to make things right.
Can they overcome accusations of cheating and eight months of silence? Are conversations, confessions, and planning for the future enough? Will the love they still share conquer all?
REVIEW:
Oh my! This was a little bit heartbreaking and a lot heartwarming. I cannot imagine what it would be like to go through a breakup without any sort of closure – just sort of ghosting – and then have that person show up at the door 8 months later wanting to address the elephant in the room! Maybe asking for another chance. It’s clear that neither Sami nor Joakim have moved on. They are equally stubborn it seems since they have both just let this go on for 8 months with zero contact. Joakim has a problem with jealousy – but he seems now ready to deal constructively with it. He know Sami wouldn’t cheat on him and the fact that he is jealous of Sami’s best friend and a hug is definitely a problem. But Joakim and Sami are good together and if they can get past this, perhaps this second chance will allow them to not go back to what they were but to move forward to what they want to be.
This is such a touching story! I was both sad and mad at these guys for not communicating – but in the end, that may have been just the push they needed. I adore how this author can tell such a full story with a short page count. I felt like I knew these guys and their issues though the skillful use of flashback and the introduction of a few key supporting characters and moments. I understood their issues and where they can from and how it escalated. I was impressed with how they were able to finally talk! Lovely and well done. Again.
