REVIEW:
Ryan is a baker, a barista, and the owner of the Top o’ the Morning coffeehouse,
After a break-in at Ryan’s coffeehouse, Detective Sergeant Ben is sent over to investigate.
The moment Ben steps into the coffeehouse they feel an attraction to each other.
Ryan the wonderful man he is, brings over warm drinks, pastries, and comfort.
Ben is observing all activity, There’s a box in the coffeehouse, and customers who seem to be in need, write things on paper and put it in the box.
One thing is sure, Ryan can read people, the colors he sees tell him about their condition. It’s a gift and a curse.
There’s much more and it almost looks like magic.
Ben is a lonely man, living alone with his cat Morris. Ben’s hurt by his ex in the past, and it’s influencing his present. Ryan’s business and personality give him the hard-needed warmth and comfort.
Between all the work and Ryan’s gifts, there’s a sweet delicate romance blooming.
Watch them, it’s more than special.
This story has all the right ingredients for something extraordinary! There’s a touch of magic, some crime, hurt comfort, more than wonderful side characters, like our sweet Morris, and keep an eye on cousin Alastair, there are pots and pots of tea, warm treats, delicious croissants, and a powdered sugar sweet slow-burn romance.
This was a beautiful, delicate, emotional read, with a comfortable serenity, and the kindest and most adorable characters. The story is nicely layered and beautifully written. I loved the whole concept very!!
