A marine. An assassin. A fine line between love and hate.
I’ve seen too much death as a marine and the son of a mafia boss’s stooge. I finally have a chance to do what I’ve always wanted: raise horses.
The catch: My brother’s ranch is also a safehouse for men the police would never protect.
TJ, our first client, is a hot AF mafia assassin who doesn’t take no for an answer. He’s the last man on earth I want to desire, and the only one I long for.
My self-control grows thinner each day until I give into TJ’s demands, baring myself to him in more ways than one.
TJ isn’t the man I thought he was, and I can’t fight what I feel for him, but the danger that sent him to the ranch is growing and sooner or later, he’ll go back to his family. Do I fight for him or accept that we were never meant to be?
REVIEW:
Oh, I love me some good enemies to lovers read, this one was good!
The Texas Safehouse is a Ranch, a place where you get protection and can hide, it serves protection for the people on the wrong side of the law. Grant and his two brothers twins Rhys and Rogue are running the place.
TJ is an assassin, he’s the son of a mafia boss. His father’s orders are to stay low at Texas Safehouse. Something is going on within the family business and it’s not safe for TJ.
One eye on TJ and Rhys knows he’s trouble, the man is way too hot. Not only hot but extremely irritating, he hates his guts already.
TJ is getting crazy, standing on the sideline and not being able to do something. The only distraction he got is to torture Rhys, the man hates him, but it’s so much fun to play him.
Rhys has a dark secret no one knows about, could he ever trust TJ and tell him?
Two strong-headed men. Fighting for the upper hand. Both men with hard shells, almost impenetrable, there’s a lot of hate sex, scorching af.
The unsure circumstances were wonderfully portrayed. Until the end, it wasn’t clear what the outcome would be.
There are more layers in this story than in the previous one. TJ’s situation was complicated and their relationship ditto. The chemistry between TJ and Rhys was tantalizing.
The writing was consistent and captivating. If you love enemies-to-lovers stories with rough, tough guys, who aren’t afraid of the devil, with dirty mouths, the same mouths which can do amazing things to the other, this series is for you.
Can’t wait for Rogue’s story!
