Return to small-town Chesapeake and fall in love with the single-dad bad boy who keeps breaking hearts, and the adorable geek who can’t help but fall head over heels for his brother’s best friend.
For one night with the man of his dreams, Taran’s willing to break all his rules…..
Taran’s always been the reliable one. Safe. Which is why he keeps getting dumped by the assholes he dates. And after the latest round of “too boring,” he’s ready to drink his blues away. That’s until Silas King shows up – the gorgeous guy he’d swooned over through high school.
Silas wants one more night of distraction before his new reality sets in, and he sets his sights on Taran, his friend’s little brother who’s looking sexier than ever. It’s not like he can get in any more trouble than he’s already found himself in.
After Taran and Silas spend one unforgettable night together, feelings emerge, ones quickly stamped out when Silas confesses why he’s back in town. He’s returned to meet his three-month-old daughter.
With that chaos in his life, Silas can’t pursue anything further with Taran, and having longed for Silas his whole damn life, Taran isn’t sure he’ll survive the aftermath. Yet the more they try to avoid their connection, the more they keep colliding…until the passion between them detonates.
REVIEW:
I was eager to return to Chesapeake City and get to know Nico’s geeky little brother Taran better.
Taran is the safe and reliable one. The geeky one. The boring one. He’s heard it all way too many times from all his ex’s. No surprise that Kevin, his now ex, stated the same lines. Just like all the guys before. But why can’t Taran get what he really wants? He just wants to settle down and have what was ripped from him, his mom and his big brother Nico on that fateful Friday, the 12th night. A solid and loving relationship with a man that loves him and understands him and his weird likes. Silas is back for good in Chesapeake City, something he never saw happened. But he also didn’t see his one-night stand resulting in fatherhood either from his yearly visit last year. Now he has a 3-month old baby girl named Fiona and no clue how to be a dad since his left when he was six. When Silas stumbles upon a freshly dumped Taran, his best friend Nico’s little brother, he does what he knows he has no right to do but flirts with him and suggests they take it back to his room at the Inn. What Silas never expected with the younger man was to discover how not proper he his when clothes start coming off. That Kevin guy was an absolute fool to let the beautiful and sexy man go. But his loss is definitely Silas’s gain. But what was thought to be one last night to blow off steam before parenthood took over his life was anything but when you get a night like that!
Both of these men were traumatized by the sudden exit of their dad’s. Silas suffered from the sting of his dad’s words at only six and then he and his mom were abandoned. Taran is still reeling form the devastating accident that claimed his dad’s life when he was younger. Where Silas’s dad exiting left him accepting that he was nothing but trouble and he would never be worth anything, Taran’s sudden loss left he struggling and longing for a committed future and a complete family again.
I loved how Taran had experience with children from babysitting while growing up and was more than willing to help teach Silas what he needed to help raise Fiona. And that little girl grabbed hold of both those men and kept them deep in her tiny clutches. And I appreciated Silas’s determination not to become his father.
Taran’s buttoned up look contrasted nicely with Silas’s bad boy look. But I loved that even though he was geeky and everyone seemed to steamroll over him he was spicy and saucy when his layers were peeled back. Just like Silas’s were from his tough persona
I know this is the last of the Chesapeake Days series but I read that there is a spin-off series called Chesapeake Nights that is coming next.
