What happens when friendship becomes love, and you’re presented with seemingly impossible choices while the world is watching?
Harvey, lead guitarist with Australian rock band, HyperOctane, thought playing at Rocktoberfest would be the highlight of his career. He didn’t expect a performance that would shape the rest of his life.
Ravi
Admitting his feelings for Harvey was one of the hardest things he’d ever done. Being rejected was crushing. He never thought he’d be living the same heartbreak years later after finally finding love.
Bo
He broke Ravi’s heart but he couldn’t ignore the feelings he had for Harvey. It wasn’t fair on Rav, and Bo knew it was for the best, but why did doing the right thing have to hurt so much?
Harvey
He wasn’t sure which was his biggest regret—hurting Ravi all those years ago, or more recently giving in to temptation and having a one-night stand with Bo. He’d always been close to his younger brother’s best friends, and now it seemed he’d messed things up with both of them.
Now all three of them must confront their feelings for each other. Why do things have to be so complicated?
Three of a Kind is a gay rock star romance featuring second chances, friends to lovers, and menage.
Three of a Kind is part of the multi-author The Road to Rocktoberfest 2022 series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not read them all and see who hits the stage next? Hot rockstars and the men who love them, what more could you ask for? Kick back, load up your kindle and enjoy the men of Rocktoberfest!
REVIEW:
I have been a fan of Nic Starr since clear back when I read The Proof is in the Pudding and continue to be!
Harvey is the Lead Guitarist for the highly successful Australian Rock Band HyperOctane. He is also the older brother of Parker, who played for them last year after his unfortunate accident. Now Parker and Lead singer Rafe are a couple and it’s big brother Harvey’s turn. Harvey can’t believe that their band has been invited to play at Rocktoberfest across the pond in the United States. This is finally their big break making the last ten grueling years all worth it. Unfortunately fate has other plans and now he’s home with his little brother Parker’s best friend looking after him after his accident. Ravi has had a crush of his best friend’s big brother since he was young. And he has never forgot the sting of rejection that day he got courageous enough to kiss Harvey. He must be unlucky in love because his relationship with his other best friend Bo has died too. Rejection is all he knows. Bo had to break up with Ravi because his feelings for Parker’s big brother Harvey were a wedge he couldn’t over come. Especially after the one fateful night before Harvey went away with his band. Now he still is one of the group’s biggest fans. When fate leads all men to realize they can each have the other two it’s a dream come true. But when HyperOctane is invited back to Rocktoberfest how can their ménage survive the press and hype of stardom?
Being in a polyamorous relationship takes lots and lots of hard work but these men, who grew up together and have been life long friend, were prepared to not only do the work but to succeed. I knew, the moment we learned about Ravi’s homophobic and self-centered parents, that that would be the bridge to cross. Poor Ravi has faced rejection and judgement for too long to not be affected by it. And non-show business folks can’t anticipate how ruthless and heartless the press can be. I was so happy that Parker stepped up. First when their relationship came to light but more importantly when he was needed most to make Ravi understand how important and loved he was to both Harvey and Bo. They needed each other like you need air to breath.
These men and their love was a long time coming it so worth the wait! They were perfect for each other and came together at the right time finally.
If you haven’t read it yet, the first book in HyperOctane was Wild Card and it is Parker and Rafe’s story. It’s not imperative to this book but why not read it too?
I really enjoy Nic Star’s books and always look forward to more! Hope you enjoy this as much as I have!
