REVIEW:
A new-to-me author and a fun new series…double win!
Single dad Aiden has his hands full with five year old identical twins Luke and Ryan. Long since abandon by his ex, he has done everything on his own every since he was a kid and wound up in foster care. But this school holiday he literally has no one to help with his two Dennis-the-menace‘s. When his best friend Nio enters him for help with the TV show Manny SOS it comes as a surprise to be accepted. But a bigger surprise happens when he opens the door and the cutie from that night at the bar is standing there, rainbow suspenders and all, as their new Manny!
This was a fun book with both the twins keeping everyone on their toes all hours of the day and night. Oh to have that kind of energy! I’m sure Aiden would loved to be able to bottle it so he could keep up with those two.
I got where Aiden was battling his fears. He had been let down and abandoned by most of the important people in his life…his parents and his ex-husband. I was a tad bit disappointed in him not willing to even listen to Carter’s side. I get it but after they finally opened up to each other I just expected more. They had committed to be boyfriends. There are always bumps in the road in relationships. I liked that it took a really big scare to bring Aiden to his senses of what is important. Carter was such a sweetie and a catch. I could have used him in my life when I was raising my kids!
I am one of the biggest critics of epilogues billing too short and throw too much in on just a couple pages. I shout out that this is a fabulous example of what an epilogue should be. It wasn’t rushed but caught us up wonderfully and left you feeling warm and fuzzies.
I can’t wait for more of this unique and wonderful series. This was a fantastic start.
