REVIEW:
Although I loved all the books in this wonderful series I think Yuuki and Raegan’s story may have touched me the most.
We met Yuuki and Raegan in Dallas and Liam’s story. Yuuki and Dallas are the the reason Sugar and Spice Bakery is as successful as it it. They are the creative genius’ behind all those lovely designs the bakery sells. And Raegan and Yuuki helped Dallas move to Daddy Liam’s home. Yuuki and Raegan are not only best friends but have been roommates since they first went away to Culinary School. Raegan is a master chef that runs the catering side of the restaurant he works at. And Yuuki’s decorating talent keeps their bakery popular in Raleigh. When Raegan and Yuuki head to Vegas for their dear friend from Culinary school’s bachelorette party they never expected to wind up fake married to stick it to Yuuki’s despicable ex and his homophobic father. When a drunken post on Facebook exposes their marriage they decide to roll with it. But what they never expected was the feelings that started blooming when trying to make everyone believe they were really married.
I loved these guy’s love story. What they had together was so obvious to everyone else but they never saw it. Their realizations that their best friend was their one true love was precious. If only they would have learned faster that the most critical piece to a successful relationship is open and honest communication.
The part I didn’t get was why Yuuki kept hiding what was going on with Ken, his disgusting ex. Yuuki literally trusted Raegan with everything but withholding something so dangerous and escalating was not only foolish but dangerous and almost cost him his life.
I did love the side characters of Raegan’s family. Yuuki may no longer have the love and support of his father since he came out. (I really question whether he ever had it though. M) And losing his dear and supportive mother in such a senseless way was traumatic and scarring. But his new family of Raegan’s and his found family with Dallas made it easier and he could experience what true love and family were suppose to be like again.
I don’t know if this is the last book in the series or not but I have truly enjoyed getting to know this new-to-me author and her men. They have captivated me and hooked me. I am looking forward to much more.
