Jaxon loses his breath for Henry…
In all the wrong ways. When an asthma attack at work lands him in the arms of his drool-inducing, rich af, totally intimidating boss Jaxon just wants to crawl under a rock. Poor, struggling, and with no options left he can’t afford to lose this job by making a fool of himself. And that’s just what he does on day one.
But King Henry doesn’t seem to mind at all. With a firm hand and a warm heart, he takes young Jaxon under his wing and gives him all the care a boy could ever want. Could this be the Daddy of Jaxon’s dreams?
Care is a sweet, low-angst, age play novel with an adorable doggy, a sweet boy, a loving Daddy and a happily ever after so sweet it’ll melt you to pieces!
REVIEW:
I think these are first time authors and I look forward to more of their series.
Jaxon is temping for one of the top architectural firms CEO’s in all of Phoenix. Not only is Henry King known for his impressive work designing hospitals but for his kindness. He may be somewhat aloof and secretive with his philanthropic work but he is a fair and just boss. When Henry realizes that the boy that he has as his temp for his very pregnant PA is in dire need of help he can’t help but step in. Jaxon can barely afford the food for his precious dog Tessa let alone his groceries, decent work clothing, but more importantly, the asthma meds to keep him alive and breathing! When Daddy Henry steps in it allows all the stress to roll off of Jaxon’s young shoulders and the little he really is to emerge. But can they make this work or is this just a few fun and games like has happened to Jaxon’s friends? And does Daddy Henry really care for his boy?
The book started out a bit uneven and choppy but eventually smoothed out. It was like the authors weren’t sure how to get all the players recognized and working together at first but then set in for a much smoother ride. I really liked that some of their interactions weren’t just jumped at but their dynamic moved at a reasonable pace with both men showing what they truly wanted. Trust had to be earned though and I understood Jaxon’s reluctance to believe that they were in for the long haul. I know that Henry just wanted to protect and pamper Jaxon but that could have been misunderstood easily. What I liked was that these two learned to voice their concerns and their desires. I know that patience was tough for Henry when he worried about his boy and where he lived. But he did a great job of slowing down and taking things at Jaxon’s pace.
I am hoping that the next book in the series is Jaxon’s friend Simon and Henry’s long time college friend Marcus. This was a great start to what I hope is a wonderful new series for me to look forward to.
