Another omega island adventure an I couldn’t wait!
Elon lost his mate and now he can’t seem to bring on his heats. Being a widower at thirty with no heats means his dream of someday becoming a father are diminishing rapidly. Finally, after a series of doctors and therapists that have no idea how to heal him, his newest doctor refers him to Omega Island for some non-traditional therapy. This is his last chance. Mykel lost his best friend and friends-with benefits mate during his last rut. They had been helping each other out since college. Now Sami has met his forever mate whom does not wish to share. He had always expected that they would stop if one of them found their mate but didn’t expect the permanent cutoff from his friend by his new alpha. Now he isn’t really able to work well at his job as a sex surrogate and therapist at Omega Island since his grief of losing one of his closest friends. Can Elon and Mykel help each other through their loss???
These two just fit. Elon desperately needed someone as caring and I touch as Mykel. His husband Coah sure did a number on him for years playing it off as normal Alpha behavior with his virgin husband. Now left on his own after literally every moment of his life was manipulated and controlled by his possessive mate, Elon is left struggling. I loved that Mykel figured out what all those other doctors and therapists failed to see…Coah was a narcissistic and borderline abusive mate. It was all about him and his needs and Elon was basically his to own and control. Reading how Mykel showed Elon how a true mate was suppose to be was very special. And watching the healing that the two brought to each other was especially touching.
This series is a collection of books based at Omega Island and the only reoccurring character is Senta, the omega owner of the island. This one was particularly poignant. I know the author stated that she placed a lot of her recent loss in the book and it shown through. These are all fabulous books of healing and overcoming problems but this one was particularly heartbreaking and then heartwarming. I love this series and wholeheartedly recommend them and especially this hard fought HEA for both of these wonderful characters.
