Ford
Being jilted once was bad enough, and it won’t happen again. This time I’m marrying for business. When my current fiancee dupes me a few days before the wedding, luckily she leaves behind someone who can take her place. It’s the right thing for him to do, since he convinced her our wedding was a sham. If he doesn’t agree, I know just how to get him down the aisle.
River
The first time I met Ford, I knew instantly we were bound to be enemies. I loathe every gorgeous, pretentious inch of the man, even after the I dos. If it’s a marriage he wants, then a marriage he’ll get…starting with our honeymoon. I’ll make our marriage such an unbearable hell that he’ll ask for an annulment. When my plan backfires and I accidentally sleep with my new husband on our honeymoon, things take a turn I least expected. Now I need a divorce…or maybe not?
To Not Marry My Enemy is a 70k+ word enemies-to-lovers novel with marriage-of-convenience and bi-awakening.
REVIEW:
I love this author and this book rocked!!!
River has done anything and everything to keep his promise to his brother. And he has protected his best friend Cammie any way he can. So when she bails on the loveless wedding to Ford he knows he has to protect her once again. Ford knows that Camryn, his fiancé that jilted him three days before their wedding, is River’s achilles’ heel. So now, instead of his blushing bride, Ford must convince everyone that Camryn fled because she discover that it was her best friend Ford really wanted. Man or woman…doesn’t matter as long as Ford marries and stays married for a year to protect his inheritance from his manipulative but well meaning and loving grandfather. So River will do! Now they just have to contain the lust that is filling them both!
I’m not usually one for enemies-to-lovers. There is usually so much angst. But this one really did it for me. Both men did what they had to do to protect what was important to them. And let’s face it…when those two came together it was scorching hot! I loved how they both wanted the same thing but we to stubborn or proud or scared to voice it. And I love how protective they became of each other. Plus watching Ford’s family fall for River and make him their own was especially sweet. That boy needed a Mom like Faith.
This may be a series but they are each stand alone. Each one is wonderful and have completely different themes but I think this one might just be the best yet.
