Please note, the Shadows of London series is set in London and the characters are all British (so is the author). Although the series has been edited in US English for the US market, to include US spelling and grammar, many English slang words and spelling remain as part of the character of the work.
REVIEW:
NOTE: This is book 5 in this series. They need to be read in order.
Alex and John are on the lam. They have new identities, but that doesn’t last long. Kage is hunting them. He’s mad with a capital MAD. Possibly in more ways than one. He’s after Alex and he’ll use John to get to him.
Meanwhile the trick source is wreaking havoc with John. And Alex. And there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop it. Particularly with John dreams telling him one thing and Alex doing another. And then the roof blows off.
Whoooboy! This was a barn burner! There was a lot here I did not see coming. The surprises just kept rolling along. It starts off with a bang and revs up from there. John and Alex both have a lot of baggage. John is furious with Alex for his lies of omission. Alex is willing to do anything to save John. There are forces that want them both – some dead, some alive 😉 I don’t want to be spoilery and let the cat out of the bag on this because it’s too good to discover. Let’s just say that there are people and things that are truly mind blowing and they are all at play here. The climax? Perfection.
This author did a tremendous job of upping the danger, action and reveals in this final book. Great world building, fascinating and love/hate relationships galore. It a real romp! Start at the beginning. You’ll be glad you did. Highly recommended.
