Change His Tune by Ariella Zoelle
Harmony of Hearts, Book 3
Ferris is straight, so why can’t he stop wishing his fake flirtations with his best friend would become real?
Tiago Álvarez
Flirting with Ferris is one of my favorite hobbies. He always playfully rejects me because he’s straight, but I don’t let that get my hopes down. That’s why I’m so shocked when he agrees to my silly idea to drive our fangirls wild by pretending there might be something more to our friendship.
But I secretly have an ulterior motive in convincing my best friend that we should share our hilarious banter with the fans. I want to make him see that we could have something real if he gave us a chance.
It’s obvious how much fun he has teasing me, so I wonder if maybe Ferris isn’t as straight as he used to be?
Ferris Valdemar
I’ve been telling Tiago no for so long that I don’t know how to tell him yes. But I really want to give in to my feelings for him that I’ve been running away from for far too long.
When he comes up with his scheme to fake flirting with each other for our fans, it gives me the opportunity I need to come clean about my not-so-straight feelings for my gay best friend.
But how do I tell Tiago that I want to be more than just friends?

Chapter 2: Ferris Valedmar
“I’m not opposed to helping a friend in need.” Tiago moved his hand higher as he shifted to look at me with an innocent expression I knew better than to trust. “Do you need my help, Ferris?”
The combined effect filled me with an uncomfortable heat that always burned brightest when I was near him. I stopped him from moving any higher and tempting me further. “I need you to stop being such a cocktease.” Because I’m losing my will to resist you. “We’re not even filming.”
“You can’t call me a cocktease when I’m happy to follow through.” His flirty smile made my heart stumble down a long flight of stairs and crash into a wall. “I’d take very good care of all your needs.”
“Save it for your dreams,” I said with a little more harshness than I meant to. It stemmed from my frustration that it was getting harder to tell him no. I didn’t know how much longer I’d be able to keep refusing what was becoming increasingly tempting every minute we spent together.
He laid his head on my shoulder again with a heavy sigh. “Hey, you can’t blame a guy for trying.”
Without him looking at me, it became easier to breathe. “Don’t you get tired of always being shot down? Or is rejection one of your kinks?”
“It’s not, but I suppose an argument could be made about me being masochistic enough to keep barking up the wrong tree.”
“Why do you do it when you know my answer will never change?” They were big words when I was on the verge of giving in to him. But I had been telling him no for so long, I wasn’t sure how to say yes.
He surprised me with a genuine reply. “Because nothing else gives me the same pleasure as teasing you and spending time together. And what can I say? I’m an eternal optimist who hopes that with enough playful banter, you’ll be tempted to give in to me at least once.”
“You sound more delusional than optimistic.” I chuckled so he knew I wasn’t serious. Without meaning to, my fingers ran through his thick, black hair that was as soft as any woman’s. Why did it have to feel so great?
When he nuzzled against me with a happy sigh, it sent a shiver through me. But it didn’t dissuade me from continuing to play with his hair. He murmured, “This is nice.”
It was nice. Almost too nice. I tried to tell myself it was only because we were close friends that it felt amazing to have him nestled at my side as I toyed with his hair. However, that voice of doubt deep within me scoffed at my pathetic attempt to act like there was nothing weird about what I was doing. After all, straight guys didn’t cuddle with their gay best friends, let alone draw comfort from petting them. And they certainly didn’t have stray thoughts about wondering what it would be like to do that while getting a blow job from them. Damn it!
Instead of pulling away like I should, I rested my cheek against his head with a defeated sigh. Fighting my urges was exhausting. “Sometimes I don’t know what to do with you.”
“No, you know exactly what you want to do with me. You just haven’t come to terms with it yet.” He pressed a tender kiss on my throat that made my breathing hitch. “But that’s okay. I’m good at waiting.”
I didn’t have it left in me to protest. Instead of fighting back, I remained silent as I continued stroking his hair while pretending my actions were normal. I did my best to ignore the traitorous whispers in the back of my mind that questioned if cuddling with Tiago felt that good, how much better would it be if I gave in to his teasing?
