REVIEW:
I have come to look forward to Wendy Rathbone’s omegaverse stories.
Callum has come to Omega Island as a last hope to help him achieve his dream of some day being able to meet his mate, have an active and enjoyable sex life and bear their children. However he suffers from a debilitating condition in that he has both narrow birth and anal canals. His only experience at anal sex left him badly injured and emotionally traumatized and scared. He healers know that Callum is skittish and shy so decide that not being forthright would be the best choice, a plan that both his omega therapist Rhodes and his sexual surrogate Lev that are assigned to him adamantly opposed. When Callum learns that the alpha he had learned to trust lied to him he tries to take on his heat alone. However the herb treatment prescribed to him does the exact opposite and he is beyond miserable. All he wants is Lev but can he trust him?
On an island designed to help heal omegas trust and truth are number one priorities. How the powers that be thought that trucking Callum into choosing Lev was a good idea was plain stupid and Rhoda’s and Lev knew it. The fact that they sprung this unorthodox, even for Omega Island, treatment on the two healers was a prime sign that this was doomed to failure. Callum’s lack of trust of Alpha’s, combined with lying and tricking him, was a giant recipe for disaster. Thankful fate has a way of healing wrongs. And Lev obviously was the perfect choice for Callum. He was so thoughtful and tender, never wanting his sweetheart to suffer any discomfort or distress. Even if it meant denying himself and suffering. And Callum may have been young and not knowledgeable in these ways but he knew that Lev was the only one for him. And Lev was the most patient lover that Callum could have ever had.
Omega Island series are stories based on sexual healing and recovery. They are each based at the same facility however are easily read as standalone books. The retelling of the trauma that Callum experienced was hard to read especially since he was such a sweet, shy omega. But Lev and his story was perfect. .
