Chapter 5: Alessandro

 

“Are you up for one more experiment tonight?” Lachlan asked.

“As long as it doesn’t involve my dick or any effort, sure.” I grinned when he laughed at my answer. “You officially wore me out.”

“I’m curious what it would be like to hold someone who is almost as tall as me.”

Lachlan’s long list of girlfriends had all been significantly shorter than him, but that wasn’t surprising when he was six four. I struggled to hide my grin at his request. “Are you asking if you can spoon me?”

He gave a mock sniff of disdain. “Yes, if you want to call it something so juvenile.”

“Would you rather me tease you about wanting to cuddle-wuddle with little ol’ me?” I asked in a baby voice that made him laugh hard. “Or would you prefer if I joke about you wanting to snuggle me like your favorite teddy bear?”

“That’s real cute, Alessandro.”

“Hey, I made you laugh. Joking aside, being your little spoon sounds great.”

He tilted his head as he looked at me with curiosity. “Does it?”

I cursed myself for my slipup in not being more specific. Trying to cover my ass, I hurried to add, “It does for tonight. I’m wiped out and ready to crash for the night.”

“That makes two of us.” He stretched, allowing me to appreciate his beautiful body. “Damn, I can’t remember the last time I felt this satisfied after being with someone.”

“I guess that’s the difference between hooking up with your best friend versus some random girl you met at a party.”

He nodded in agreement. “Tonight was eye-opening in a lot of different ways.”

“Is that good or bad?” It was hard to judge from his tone.

“I’m pretty sure it’s good.” He finished his water and set it on his nightstand before getting up to shut off the lights and returning to bed. “I don’t have enough of a brain left right now to brood over it.”

Snickering at his comment, I chucked my bottle over to his nightstand and missed it by a country mile. “Oops. Sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it.” He waited for me to roll over before he scooted behind me and pulled me into his embrace.

After longing for him to hold me that way for six long years, it was even better than I had imagined. Melting against him with a soft sigh, I cherished the moment that was everything I had ever wanted.

“This is nice,” he murmured, hugging me a little tighter to his chest.

It was an understatement, but I didn’t feel up to correcting him. “Mm-hmm.”

He turned me into a quivering puddle when he kissed the back of my shoulder. “Good night, Alessandro.”

It was an intimate gesture that I would hold on to for the rest of my life. I could barely speak through my exhaustion and emotional state, but I forced myself to mumble, “G’night.”

As we settled into silence, I was too tired to think. Instead, I drifted into a dreamless sleep, because there was no better dream than the reality of being his, even if it was only for one night.
