Can a veterinarian lose his V-card before turning twenty-five? Oh, one hun p he can!
On the surface, I’m super sassy and just a little bit extra. But underneath, I’m hiding a painful secret from my past and one hugely embarrassing problem in my present—I’m still a…I’m still a…Dammit, I can’t even get it out.
Let’s just say it starts with V and ends in irgin.
Daly’s the new barista, and he takes Thirsty Thursdays to a whole new level. He’s drop-dead gorgeous with a sexy shaved head, ocean-blue eyes, and an insane smile that lights me up whenever he aims it my way. He’s also kind, friendly, and interesting. In other words, the perfect guy to be my first time.
A night of too much coconut tequila leads to us making a drunken pact. Daly will help me with my V-status issue, but he adds a caveat. We have to get to know each other first. Then, and only then, can the physical stuff happen.
It sounds simple enough. But the more I get to know him, the more I realize what we have is more than just a physical attraction. We share a connection. We like the same things. And stupidly, I’ve gone ahead and caught feelings for the guy.
This was never meant to be anything more than just a physical thing, so why has Daly got me going out of my mind the way he does?
Got Me Going is book 5 in the Vet Shop Boys series and can be read as a stand-alone. Expect plenty of humor, found family, strangers-to-friends-to-lovers, a V-card pact, a sassy veterinarian and a down-to-earth baker, small town romance vibes, and a heartwarming happily ever after!
REVIEW:
Oh my gosh, this was such an amazing read!
It was so much fun to see Tyler and Daly dance around each other, too shy and embarrassed to ask the other out. For months Daly’s highlight of the week is Thirsty Thursdays when Tyler will come by in his bakery and order drinks and pastries for all the colleagues from the Vet Shop Boys.
Daly knows there’s more behind the sassy attitude Tyler presents, he saw him without it and that version of him was as adorable as his smart-mouthed one. He’s so attracted to the whole picture.
Yes, they exchanged mobile numbers wheeee! Oh my gosh, they are the sweetest at this stadium!
Daly’s business isn’t doing well, he works seven days a week, ten hours per day, and he’s out of ideas on how to make better revenue. He’s only twenty-five and the only fun in his life is Tyler.
Tyler is the sassiest, sweetest, and the youngest of all the veterinarians from the Vet Boys Shop, only he thinks he’s pathetic and wants something to do about it before he turns twenty-five in a few months… losing his V card.
Daly offers to help him out, with the condition to get to know each other first in these few months. All without strings, he got a bakery to run and there’s no place or time for a romantic relationship.
While this topic ‘slow burn’ is far from what I prefer, the way it’s done here does so much right to this story, because watching them was such a pleasure, besides that, there are substantiated reasons for their careful approach.
The lightheartedness was such a good counterbalance to the heartbreaking baggage they both carry around.
It was all absolutely stunning put together.
First I want to point out, that there are so many hilarious moments, I laughed and snorted and laughed out loud, just delightful!
Second, to point out, there are as many warm, compassionate and caring moments, my eyes dripped, but more my heart swelled, I got thick goosebumps, and the place around my sternum got warm from all the love, it was really everything to experience this with them.
Witnessing the very ups and the downs of the Pet Shop Boys and meeting the others guys more than once, made the story complete, they all fit together perfectly.
A wonderfully balanced story, humor, hurt, comfort, seriousness, fun, business, pleasure, and on top of that, dang, they were hot.
Bow to the author for creating a beautiful heartfelt story, with real-life problems, approached with real-life emotions and gestures, sweet human interactions, wonderful characters, and the sweetest heartwarming romance! Tyler and Daly stole my heart, I’m still searching for it.
Dear readers, we got ourselves a winner!
