Two houses. Two Presidents. One hell of a happy ending.
Zeke
Being president of a frat house means everything is on my shoulders.
Idiot brothers, epic pranks, a list of organizational duties long enough to make my eyes bleed.
None of it fazes me.
But senior year is almost over, and I’m ready to take a step back.
Until the hazing rumors start.
I might not know where they’re coming from, but I know they’re total BS.
Now, instead of dialing back the stress, we’ve broken the number one rule on the row: Don’t get the dean’s attention.
I need to find out who’s driving the lies.
And all evidence points to one person.
Charles
I never wanted to become Kappa president.
The appointment was made easier, though, when none other than Zeke Ariston took over Sigma house. I’ve always been … drawn to him. Fascinated.
And maybe a little attracted too.
Pity I’ve never been more than an afterthought to him.
But when rumors start to circulate about hazing and the sources lead back to my house, it puts me square on Zeke’s radar.
I want to help him get to the bottom of it all.
And with his attention finally on me, I want to tell him how I feel.
The guys on Greek Row meet their chaotic conclusion with this rivals-to-lovers romance full of pranks, shared hoodies, and secret meetings made in the dark.
REVIEW:
Ugh, I wish this wasn’t the end of the Frat Wars series. These have been awesome books, including the new Presidential Chaos. This is the story of the romance between the presidents of rival fraternities: Zeke of Sigma Beta Psi and Charles from Rho Kappa Tau. The plot also contains a mystery about a smear campaign against Sigma attempting to shut down the fraternity.
As we know, Sigma is the frat comprised of mainly middle-class jocks, while Kappa features old money, academic-focused, leaders of tomorrow. And Sigma, especially Robbie, is all about the pranks and Greek life shenanigans, mostly targeting the Kappa house. Zeke and Charles work to keep their brothers in line and discuss frat business during weekly meetings.
Those aren’t the only meetings they have, however. Over the past six months, the presidents have been indulging in quick, secret hookups in the dark, meant to feel anonymous. They both need the release from their daily stresses. Zeke is an international caliber competitive swimmer with his sights on the next Olympics. He appears calm and confident with an intense drive to achieve that singular goal. Charles’ stress comes from being kept on a tight leash by his grandfather who demands Charles becomes a lawyer. Charles is working so hard for his pre-law degree and a career he will despise.
Both men have a big-time crush on the other. Zeke has never felt like this about anyone before – strong infatuation (and lust) with the accompanying butterflies. It kills him that Charles doesn’t want him in the same way, though. Charles wants to continue the hookups but is adamant about not turning it into a relationship. Despite real feelings creeping into their FWB arrangement, there’s no chance of a future given the different directions their lives will take. There’s a clear deadline – graduation in a few months – to their relationship. They give into those feelings, of course, and the first kiss they share after all those months is supremely passionate.
At the same time, there’s a mystery to be solved. Someone has accused Sigma, in an online article, of hazing, a practice strictly banned among the fraternities and sororities. Zeke and his closest brothers have to find out who has a vendetta against them and shut down the rumors before the frat is suspended, or worse. Zeke also turns to Charles for help which increases their time together.
I enjoyed getting to know Zeke and Charles more and thoroughly enjoyed their dynamic with its fantastic sarcasm and banter. Zeke gets tongue tied and jealous, and is delighted when Charles frequently gets flustered. Who knew Charles had a sense of humor? All the usual players are here, including Chad and Bailey, and Robbie and Brandon from the previous books. There’s more focus on the mystery than on the pranking and interaction between frat brothers this time around.
Saxon James has such a grasp on the minds of new adult characters and fully succeeds in this demographic time and time again. Presidential Chaos is no exception. The epilogue is perfect. It further builds upon the same ten-year college reunion as in the previous two books, this time told from Zeke’s perspective. It’s so satisfying to see all six men together again and know they’ve maintained their close friendships over the years. I’m sad to have reached the end of Frat Wars but I have no doubt I’ll be revisiting these fun, romantic, highly enjoyable books repeatedly.
